Really? That’s it? meh.
Was thinking there would be something more useful. Might have to hit the lab.

99% sure you will not find anything. Viper has been around for like 3 years dude.
mmm i found you can do mid air mk burning kick >ultra on sagat in midscreen but he need be standing.
other combos:
FFF>feint>c.mk>mp thunder knuckle on zangief, maybe t.hawk
(corner)FFF>ex seismo>fierce thunder knuckle>instant(mk/hk/lk) burning kick>instant ex burning kick:
forward mk burning kick:ryu, ken, honda, dudley, gouken, guy, hakan, guile, blanka
backward mk burning kick:balrog
backward hk burning kick:sagat, t.hawk
lk burning kick:dan, abel, rufus, el fuerte
some cross up or meaty stuffs are especific to like j.hk cross up intro FFF
Yeah there’s some lil weird stuff like that I suppose. I like cl.hp>feint>cr.mk>sjc ultra in the corner. Power to ya if you figure out who all it works on but really it’s whatever.
Good lookin’ out Correo.
Viper was able to do this combo in ssf4?
cr.lk, cl.lk cl.lk cr.mp xx mp.tk? I thought that she could do only 2 lk/lp and then cr.mp but against twins, chun and other character now in ae i can do 1 more…
I guarantee it has nothing to do with changes
Yes that was possible in ssf4 u just have to stand really close to the opponent
Viper seems to have gotten some subtle changes. Maybe it’s just me though:
Has anyone else found getting sj. HK to cross-up after forward throw harder? Seems like she might have slightly less frame advantage after it?
Also, has anyone gotten TK cross-up Burn Kick (Opponent falls in front of Viper) -> Ultra 1 to work midscreen? No matter how early I land before the opponent, I can’t get the Ultra to come out. I can get Thunder Knuckle to land, but every time I try Ultra 1, it’s almost as though the game just ignores the input!
I can confirm that the insta-bk to ultra still connects midscreen (i pulled it off on my buddy’s gouken last night :D), maybe you’re doing it too early? I just input the motion backwards and wait for them to cross over for the autocorrect ultra. Idk about the f-throw, timing and spacing seems the same to me… i haven’t noticed anything different about her really.
Her boobies have definitely gotten smaller. Boo.
On a slightly more serious note, her st.hk hit advantage was decreased by 1 frame, but her lptk and mptk hit advantage got buffed by +1 and +2.
Not trying to sound cyincal but is there documentation on these changes?
Compare the AE frame data with the Super frame data. That’s the only way to find out.
i could definetly use the tips in my daily training regime add me on xbl NGB Kloud

compared to
http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/nov/13/crimson-viper-frame-data-street-fighter-4/
jab TK is now +2 on hit (previously 0)
strong TK is now +3 on hit (previously from +1)
far roundhouse is now -2 on block (previously from -1)
far roundhouse is now +2 on hit (previously from +3)
cr. forward is now -2 on hit (previously from 0)
(and obviously the increased hitbox on ultra 2)
The only other thing I found to be different between some of the guides is that some of the moves have/no longer have special attributes to them in terms of canceling/linking/chaining. This was mostly for really useless moves like standing forward, so it doesn’t really matter even if some of that got changed.
Also, I haven’t personally tried any of these (namely the jab and strong TK stuff, which is pretty much the only notable changes), but I’ll do so sometime in the next few nights. I’m in viper training bootcamp mode for EVO ._.
I don’t get the added recovery frames to cr. mk. That always gets cancelled into a feint, MP TK or OS MK BK. What am I missing here?
did they nerf the recovery frames or the amount of stun it did?
I can confirm the TK buffs are legit.
I switched the version to Super place the dummy on Viper and I choose Rog. I had the dummy record c.strong xx jab TK, c.strong xx jab TK and then did a separate recording of c.strong xx jab TK, c.jab.
Viper’s c.strong is 5f start up and c.jab is 4f start up. I get hit by c.strong xx jab TK then I start mashing c.jab with Rog which we all know is 3f. In both scenarios Rog’s c.jab will trade with both of Viper’s c.strong and c.jab. However, when I performed the same test in AE Rog would always get counter hit in both scenarios.
Strong TK the results were a CH in Super but at the right distances a trade with her c.Strong/Jab. In AE pure CH no matter the spacing.
I didn’t test the far s.RH stuff but I did test the c.forward nerf and I didn’t notice any difference. I used Chun-Li’s Super as it’s 2f start up on all versions (some claim Forward version is 1f but that’s negligible) and in both scenario’s a reversal RH super punished the c.forward on hit regardless of distance.
Thanks Killey :3.
I’m assuming the reason why (in Super) Rog’s cr. jab would trade is that even though it’s 1 or 2 frames faster than viper’s cr. jab and cr. strong, the hitbox wouldn’t immediately touch viper until his arm extends all the way out (I guess on the second frame?), and Viper would then be able to trade with him because his hurtbox is extended due to the jab? When I first read it all, I was thinking that Rog would just beat Viper clean no matter what she threw out, but I guess it deals a handful with hurtbox stuff. Interesting stuff, regardless. Furthermore, I’m glad to know that I can continue my pressure even better on hit (I feel like it’s a risk to do another cr. strong if the TK is blocked since Viper’s normals take forever).
As far as the cr. forward nerf, as maskedburrito mentioned, it’s pointless regardless if it got nerfed or not. Even if it did get nerfed, you would want to TK, feint, or do some sort of special thereafter regardless.
Hitstun (the blockstun didn’t change). Again, presumably it did, but through Killey’s testing, apparently there’s no real difference. but as I just mentioned, there’s no point at all to do a cr. forward without a cancel into a special.
Interesting stuff, thnx especially to killey for doing the research, I knew something was different.
