Hi everyone. Just wanna introduce myself as Ive just started using Viper after maining Ryu for SOOOO long. Also - and sorry if tis has been posted before - but I just realised its possible to do the poke>SJC>Ultra via a 360, d, d/f, f motion… so , down + poke, full circle right round to forwards, ppp. You guys probs know that, but thought Id post just in case.

Funnily enough, I’ve performed it like that before, but I found the method a bit inconsistent.

That method works and has indeed been known, but I think that method is the least practical during a match. It’s not gonna be easy for the short short BnB SJC into Ultra, cause who wants to make a full 360 mid combo. I think that method is only useful for doing a single normal move into ultra, like c.mp SJC Ultra a whiffed shoryu or something.

Anyways anyone try fierce feint c.forward into ultra just for some unique flash? I been trying to practice it but 1/2 the time the ultra doesn’t pick them up or hit them for all the hits so, prolly a complete waste of time. =P

I’ve found that just doing :qcf::uf::qcf::3p: is very easy and consistent to do all the time. It doesn’t even have to be done very fast. How do you do it?

Lol, that combo’s sick but I’d never dare to do it in a real match out of fear the Ultra misses.

I do it the same way also! Seems easier than 360-direction for some reason, and a helluva lot easier to buffer.

when i do the cancel into ultra without the 360 the jump doesnt always come out. Is there a specific timing or anything?

You know what would be sick as hell though. Is if you knew you only needed the FFMK and the first ground pound of the ultra to finish them. That would be epic.

k; I just read this… does this mean that Viper can effectively do an FADC without burning metre by cancelling out of SJC? Cause… ummm… that’d be sexy

Quick tips for FFF, EX seismo, meter-less dash up cr.roundhouse.

On the left side, I had trouble with down to u/f and it didn’t feel natural. So basically, I just did a tiger knee fireball motion for it, then tapped for a dash. Works really good and it’s consistent for me.

On the right side, I just do down back then up forward. Feels natural on this side, and easier to do imo.

For both sides, you basically wanna buffer your HJ and not time it. That makes it MUCH more easy. I thought of that because HJ counts somewhat like a special move, so you don’t need to be as strict on the timing as it may appear. Usually, if you whiff the sweep…it’s because your focus into dash wasn’t fast enough. So try working on that section more, instead of the meter-less focus cancel for the most part. Again, the buffered HJ doesn’t require that much timing, I think it’s key to getting it down easily. If you’re getting the 2 bar focus cancel, it’s because you’re tapping focus too early. That’s the second part to getting it out smooth. Just gotta focus at the right time, and dash quickly. Then boom, you got yourself the combo.

edit: I p-link the sweep for insurance, but that’s far from the hard part :lol:

Does Fierce Punch > EX Seismo > EX TK > Ultra work well as an easy midscreen Ultra combo?

As far as I know that doesn’t work at all. You can’t juggle the ex tk with an ultra.

So I’ve been practicing meterless fadc more and I now have yet another different technique. This one has got me the most consistent results of any that I’ve tried so far so I figured why not throw it out here. It might help someone else too.

My new way which I do on both sides is…

:df::r::uf:, neutral, :r: + FA. Interestingly this is also the only way I’ve ever tried where I actually get about equal results on both 1p and 2p sides. It’s pretty much the same as MagMan’s method, but getting rid of the :d: motion at the beginning. It seems like an insignificant change, but it helps me a lot, probably because I have shit execution.
