Interestingly bastardish i’ll try when i get home
Or the last three steps could be
MP+HP
df+MP+HP
df+MP+HP
Whether that’s easier or not is subjective really.
You could prolly add a good 50 more stun to that if you finished it with EX burning kick rather than HP TK.
With EX BK at the end, total stun amounts to 850, 25 points more than ending with HP TK.
Edit: Lulz; Seth gets stunned like a bitch on top of having low defense and offense. Do that combo once and the guy is stunned after the MP TK.
This may be a stupid question, and it may have been said already, but for the love of god I can’t find it:
For fierce feint fierce, exactly which feint do you use. I’ve seen “HP feint”. Is that TK or Seismo?
Use tk
You use the HP TK? Silly question 2: how do you feint it? No matter how quickly I input PP after qcb+hp I do not get the feint for the hp version.
HP feint has the most strict timing of all the TK’s, I don’t really have any magic advice for doing it other than you do it jus tlike feinting MP TK an LP TK, just gotta find the timing.
Fun Fact: It’s a lot easier to feint a HP TK when buffered during the animation of a move rather than to feint a HP TK by itself. EX: c or s.fierce, hp tk feint
Use LP, MP or HP Thunder Knuckle Feint. HP Feint is the most ideal to use though since it gives you the most time to combo afterwards. You can do it with LP or MP but you have to time the second fierce immediately after the feint or it won’t combo. So it’s either the feint is harder to do or the c.HP is harder to do depending on what you use.
Funny thing is that my brother found a decent use for HP Feint by itself. It’s pretty good as an attack fake during wake up situations. He’s basically gotten the execution for vanilla HP Feint down to a point when he’ll just immediately do it just as someone wakes up. HP Feint recovers so quickly that you can (at least from what he says) block before a wake up super or ultra comes out.
So if someone tries to Ultra on wake up they’ll see the camera zoom in on Viper in the HP Feint animation and think they’ve got her hit. Then the ultra actually comes out and you recover in time to block. I’d like to test this agianst other really quick moves or supers or whatever and see how viable it could become. Nobody is more fun in this game than Viper I swear.
Right of the top of my head, if you are standing next to blanka, and you do that, is free ultra, because you’ll be in st. animation, and I’m pretty sure according to the Blanka Ultra Thread, which I had to read, cause I got bored of being hit with that BS.
Is that you must be blocking low when the screen freezes, so, if the screen freezes, when you are in the feint animation, you are gonna get hit. Other than that, I think the fastest ultra should be Viper’s herself. At least when it comes to animation. Theres no reliable frame data yet.
EDIT: Ok, so there is frame data from the actual japanese guide. LOL.
Ultra Startup.
Zangief: 1+0 (This is just stupid. Impossible to get around. You must be airborne when the screen freezes)
Blanka: 1+3 (Already been tru this case)
Akuma: 1+4 (Interesting, is the jump animation fast enough to avoid being demon’d when feinting?)
El Fuerte: 1+4 (You can block, but, can you avoid being grabbed?)
C. Viper: 1+6
Chun Li: 1+6
Guile: 1+6
Rufus: 1+8
Dan: 10
Cammy: 10
Fei Long: 10
Sagat: 1+9
Balrog: 1+9
Ken: 1+9
Gen: 11 (Both, but of course we dont care about being grabbed in the air)
Sakura: 11
Gouken: 11
Ryu: 1+10
E. Honda: 1+10
Rose: 12
Dhalsim: 1+11
M. Bison: 1+11
Abel: 1+13
Vega: No data for when he goes to the wall: but only 1 frame from the wall to you. Interesting.
I wasn’t off for that much when saying Viper’s was the fastest, is the fastest grounded ultra that doersn’t grab, right after blanka which I talked about already. So there are some number to crunch up. I dont have a console of my own, I just go to a friends a play, so I can’t really test it myself, but If you cannot block Viper’s on time, you just have to keep going until you can block one of them.
Yeah he would be one of the only characters that it wouldn’t be so great against. I mean really…you shouldn’t be standing too close to Blanka when he has Ultra any ways. He’s like a big ball of killer bees with that Ultra. Everyone else I would definitely try it though. Against Blanka I usually do super jump burn kick to cross him up right before he wakes up to bait the Ultra. The Ultra doesn’t rise up quick enough to hit her and he’ll subsequently whiff the Ultra.
Yeah Viper’s Ultra definitely seems to be the quickest. Meaning it’s the best Ultra to use to quickly punish whiffed attacks or to punish mashed stuff on wake up. You can use it like a level 3 CVS2 super. People pressing buttons when you start it…they get hit. You also have to block Viper’s Ultra low so HP Feint on wake up probably wouldn’t be all that great in the mirror match either.
From that list it seems like she’ll probably be able to use the HP Feint tactic on everyone except the top 4 characters. That’s a lot of potential characters to play mind games with. I’ll test it tonight.
Ok guys, forward + MP, cr. MP, LP/MP Thunder Knuckle…I’ve combo’d it several times against random opponents. Now what are the ideal cases in which said combo actually works because I know it don’t work on everyone and anything at all times. I’ve done it on a cr. Chun Li and Blanka multiple times and a few other random characters, but I’m still a little hazy as to which character you can and can’t combo that off of.
Also, what are Viper’s other ideal options besides grab after forward + MP. As much fun as grabbing is, there has to be more to it. What do yall do, and what works for you?
Most of the time I just grab as it almost always works, but sometimes I do an instant sjc backwards moving BK to see if i can catch em off guard. You also might be able to step back slightly and cross them up from there.
hmm, quick question, do you guys think cr.mp->hp tk feint->cr.mk->mp TK is possible? In my head it looks pretty plausible and it would be a pretty sweet stun combo if you had it down to a science.
Not sure about the push back but I’m thinking st.mp->cr.mp->hp tk feint->cr.mk->mp TK might work if the above combo works. Can’t really test right now as my execution level won’t allow it. I’m still trying to get Fierce-Feint-Fierce down consistently, unlike Shinobi I think I can only do it 10% on both sides lol.
that sounds about where i’m at right now. It’s kinda interesting how i’ve working my progression with viper. Kind of like in stages. Initially it was getting the jump in to c.mp/mk xx TK down nice and smooth - which was like a few minutes. Next came multiple seismos. Then it was fp xx ex seismo xx BK (Not 100% on air born SJC to BK). Now its onto feirce feint feirce.
The first combo might work on counter hit. Not sure about the second one though. Viper gets some serious ass combos on counter hit though. Like how her c.MP and c.MK can combo into EX seismo on counter hit. Once your footsie game gets good Viper can get scary.
pretty sweet, I didn’t know that, gotta start working that ground game now haha.
sorry to double post, but I really wanted to thank Shinobi Brown for posting his method for fierce-feint-fierce etc. success rate went way up, it was a little weird to get used to but now I just have to slow up the motion, so I don’t get the ex seismo without the second fierce anymore.
Catching an opponent in the air with EX TX then tag them with an ultra. Does this even work at all? I tried it, but the ultra whiffed completely.
