So, I’ve read pages 22-32 and all I see is information on viper, doom, dorm, strider, vergil and ammy. Blah blah best charecters.
So ima bring a new task, I use viper, frank west(cart), deadpool (quickwork). I’ve seen 10000 ways to use doom and ammy, but anyone have any tech for frank?
Don’t need critism about the team or anything, I’m following the “play who you like” philosophy. Anything that can lead from cart? Easy ways to level up? Pretty much any tech regarding frank. Right now, I use viper as a point because she’s my favorite character at the moment. I level up frank after she dies from a team super with deadpool and makes him an easy level 4. Just seeing is there’s anything viper can do with the kart.
So I’ve been praticing a lot of Viper lately, and I’ve been working on her BK cancels. I had so much fun doing her ROM loops with H TK (feint) sj.H S BK (feint) ADD S x3. I find it easier to do in XF3 but all the same, shit looks pretty as fuck.
Frank’s assist is really derpy, it makes light seismo better because it controls a very specific ground space area while light seismo gets this other space right above Viper’s head. Remember that your 2149C hits at an absolutely retarded range and you can use it for quick work unblockables.
Also, Deadpool’s teleport cancels + burn kick assist leads to some silly things.
I went to the lab with viper/frank and found out that you can get a guaranteed level 3 by dhc’ing the last hit of burst time into tools of destruction (whiff), foto as they fall down. Not the best way to level up frank for two bars, but better than nothing. Also you can get an easy relaunch in te corner with shopping cart assist.
So I was in the lab trying to find combo uses for Vergil’s Rapid Slash assist besides relauching because that feels wonky and weird to me. Here’s what I came up with:
From c. starter: midscreen towards corner:
c. x :qcf:~:s:, c.:h: x :qcf:~:s:, c.:h: x :dp::l: jump cancel x air dash forward j.:h::s:, land, +:a1:(Vergil Assist):h: x :qcf:, tk:qcb::h:, :s: sj.:h: dj. :h::s:, land, :a2:(Strider Assist) :dp::l: immediate jc.:qcf::h:, :dp::l:xx:qcb::atk::atk: = 890k, about 1.7 meters (built before super).
It’s just a tad over 950k if you just let them fall into the swords. So it’s perfect for: Swords > Taunt while they bounce to their death (trololol).
Pretty good for no Staircase kicks. lol. I’m going to try and tack some Staircase kicks on there after the Vergil Assist pop up, but I have a feeling that the hitstun will be too high, since everything in this combo has to be done pretty tightly.
What’s great is you can do the same thing off a throw as long as you’re at a midscreen position that’ll let your Hk Burn Kick reach the corner. Just start the combo at the OTG Seismo and go from there. If you’re a tad too far for the Burn Kick, you can also just dash up and :h::s: into the rest.
As long as you have exactly 1 meter stocked when you throw, you can get up too 1 million damage with Vergil’s hilariousness.
If you want to do add stairkick loops, just skip the boxdash part and you’re fine with hsd: stuff xx m tk~s, cr.m + vergil, h xx m tk, (vergil hits) h tk~s, sj.h [l bk~s, h, s] x3, st.h, s, air series, etc…
On the staircase loop after I’m hitting SJ.H > Burnkick L S to feint most of the time I hit S to feint and the burn kick still comes out, how fast do I have to hit the S to feint? Also when doing a seismo> burn kick tiger knee the M & H version burn kick either whiffs or doesn’t come out how can I stop this from happening ?
So my Viper Execution isn’t great, I can’t do stair case loop. I’m curious if I am suffering greatly combo wise. I’m running Viper(BK), Tasky(H Arrows), Anthony(Repulsor Blast). I can get 904k with just Viper and and 1.2Mil with Tasky assist(no DHC)
Am I really losing out by not learning the loop?

Regarding the random air hits part; how’s the timing/spacing like for midscreen loops? When I try it on a jumping AI I keep crossing over after only the first cancel. Never got to the second loop.
I already got down the loops for the corner (finally able to space well enough for three, working on getting two a lot more consistent).
Hey man if my skillz were up to par I could probably get that damage with 1 bar! The combo(at least the way I do it) uses two bars, I can’t post videos so I’ll just give you the notation. You have to start with a least a third of a bar and you can do the combo, so its possible to do at the start of the round off of first hit;

And there you have it, my execution is ass so I’d say its a decent combo for a fraud like myself. Depending on lateral assist used the combo should net you 1.14-1.2Million

Also I forgot to add that if the combo is done outside of the corner you must do a variation;
after the second rep. of :qcf::l:~:s: you have to omit the s. and instead dash-plink s.:h: into :dp::l:, some lateral assist push the opponent back to much for the s. to connect so just dash plink dat s.:h:!
Hey everyone, MODOK player/combo-junkie here looking for a character to put on my team and I’m thinking Viper might be a good fit.
It all about if the character allows for uber-strong 1-meter 500K MODOK DHCs… here’s the criteria:
Has HSD immune assist that allows for swag MODOK combos. (Viper burn kick)
Does not use bounces in combos, especially wall bounces. (Viper doesn’t use them)
Ends combos with super that makes opponent fall onto Hyper Psionic Blaster DHC (Viper Burst Time) - Can corner carry during a combo without assists… ???
I’m admittedly a supreme Viper noob, and I’m messing around with her now just trying to learn the basics (she’s HARD man!) but I was hoping that you guys could help clue me in as to whether she has good corner carry combos or not. Right now Magneto fits the bill perfectly, as he can do it basically off any touch or throw, but I’m looking for other characters too. Is this something Viper can do? I’m not all that concerned about the execution, I’m willing to put in the (years? lol) of practice…
Bro u play modok and he is much harder to use than viper… I would much apprieciate anything u discover for her… I mained viper, modok, and strange at one point… There is a way to continue a combo with modok after burst time…illl make a vid for u
I already know how to continue the combo after Burst Time in the corner if I DHC to MODOK, and I can get 500K off the single one-meter DHC to MODOK as well… I’m just curious if Viper will allow for this to happen all the time by being able to corner carry whenever she touches the opponent.
…I also think Viper is a lot harder to handle than MODOK. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to MODOK, but just trying to wrap my head around all of Viper’s special moves and how they can be strung together is giving me headaches.
guess I see ya point… I think viper was a natural pick for me much like modok for you? her max HSD is funny after doing her staircase loop and doesnt leave much for modok to play with after she is done dealing her damage (outside of his TAC combos… I could be wrong though…
I know marlinpies normal corner carry combo doesnt use up alot of HSD
