C Viper - Combo Thread

It was in vanilla didn’t know it was possible in this game though.

Found a good way to use Doctor Strange eye of mogotto assist (or whatever the name is) in a combo from midscreen or corner (that assist is pretty damn good for lockdown mixup time too - prob some good focus setups with it). I used to use balloon bomb to do this combo in vanilla but sadly that assist’s hsd got hella raped.

starting with at least 1 bar - tri jump j.C, LMH, TK M (fient on hit), cr.M,H, L Siesmo, 28, AD, j.H, j.S, MHS, (press assist right before jumping or like on 2nd hit of S), j.H, jc, j.H, j.S (opponent is spiked down into assist), H,S, j.M, j.M, j.H, jc, j.M, j.H, j.S, call doom rocks or your last assist you use if applicable, L siesmo sjc’d burn kick, burst time DHC to mashed doctor strange qcf hyper. uses two bars for about a 3/4 bar loss i think - but does over 1 million damage and is super easy!

I really want to use the otg Seismo sjc Laser xx Burst time but at the end of a long combo HSD fucks that idea up. It works on short combos though (laser is so cool imo haha - it has a decently quick charge time). How are people trying to use Laser so far? Laser into lvl3 hyper is easily verifiable. Or maybe it should just be used for blowing through projectiles for a knockdown to get inside pressure again and not in combos?

A jump cancel is when you cancel a move into a jump.

A Jump Cancel Cancel is when you cancel jump startup into a special.

That seems needlessly redundant. Guess it’s a Viper forum thing.

Nope that’s a fighting game thing. You’re getting hung up with the fact that they both involve a jump and a cancel, they are totally different concepts.

One is a move property (JC), and the other is a Kara-Cancel (JCC). And they are important for more characters than just Viper, Spencer, Spidey, and Nova come to mind.

Don’t forget Dante! He has several JCC, and if you count bold canceling, his combo game basically revolves around it.

Alright, I just found an easier and, in fact, more damaging relaunch using Strider’s Vajra assist.

Call Vajra > rapid Seismo x2 (Vajra hits) JCC H.BK > st.HS

The key here is that there’s no waiting. Wait at all, and the H won’t hit. The timing is a little tight, so just try your best to get everything in in as quick succession as possible.

EDIT: The st.H is pretty tight to get. I actually recommend just doing the S unless your execution can handle the timing.

You might also know this as “Tigerkneeing”. You learn something new everyday.

Ehhh, tigerkneeing is just a way of quickly inputing a jump after a QC or DP motion. It can be used to JC or JCC, but they’re not the same thing.

Nope sorry. The input for a TK and a JCC are similar (not the same) but they are totally different concepts. I have even gotten to the concepts of a Jump Install vs a JCC yet. The rabbit hole keeps getting deeper… and more anal.

What in Ammy’s name is a “jump install”? And what’s all this about a rabbit’s anus?

…I stand corrected…Now about that rabbit.

Really? Every time I’ve seen JCC I’ve always just replaced it with TK for my own personal reference and the results are always the same.

A JumpInstall is a mechanic from Guilty Gear, it pops up in other games from time to time. It’s pretty esoteric, hard to explain. Not in Marvel to my knowledge though.

What are the known ways to combo off of M.Seismo without an assist?

None that I know of, I don’t think Capcom would like it if we found a way to self combo from one of those

Was messing around with Viper and Vergil and came up with this

I’ll just leave this here…

glad you liked my video =)

Laser, lvl3 is all I was able to get :frowning:

Alright guys, serious business. I have some ideas that may actually allow us to combo out of a M.Seismo. However, my execution is mediocre at best, and some of this involves tight timing, so I need some more people in the lab to test the stuff out.

The two things that seem to have the most promise:

A. M.Seismo > IADF/UF > BK (unspecified l/m/h)

B. M.Seismo > SJF > BK (unspecified l/m/h)

The second one seems to be the hardest, and is basically a Viperball out of M.Seismo, but without the feint. It’s also the more likely candidate. Being able to combo out of M.Seismo would mean a lot for us.

i don’t know doing an adf seems like you just wouldn’t have enough time
but sjf i can hit with m and h bks but i can’t do anything after they hit but this was just off of my first 10 trys i didn’t make any adjustments to the timing
confirming the siesmo hits i would imagine would be tricky as well
