C Viper - Combo Thread

Yeah what Nissan said. I think you can do it off of OTG seismo SJC air H.BK (land) level 3 Not sure.

Remember you can’t dash cancel the focus on hit, so a level 2 is usually pretty worthless. A siesmo SJC~FADC>5A is a true blockstring so, it’a alot of advantage, is can setup all kinds of mixup with the right assists (Dante). If they’re getting you with tier own 2A, then you aren’t FADC’ing fast enough.

You can link the level three off of a jBK, but to be honest, Vipers lvl3 is crap, her level one is better in almost every respect.

i need help with good viper combos. saw some on the front page and got those down, but i’m trying to learn the good shit.

this is the combo that i normally do with her and sometimes dhc into magnus for a little over 840k

what’s a better combo for her?

Is there something better I can be tacking onto s. L M H, dp+L, j. M M H, qcb+S, s. M H S, sj. M M H, dj. M H S, dp+L? The Lv. 3 brings it up to 906k but as I said it’s mega tough for me to do.

Using QCB-S in that combo is a little wasteful for a combo. I usually use it at the end if i want an extra 100k damage on something. But you’re using 3 meters to do 740k which isn’t too good.

I would really try and stray away from using QCB-S mid combo to keep it going. There are other alternatives so you don’t use it. But sometimes it is necessary to continue the combo if you happen to have an awkward situation at hand.

Start start out with learning her original box dash combo. That does something like 700k with one meter i think. This way you get an idea for her base damage of her basic BnB, then adding whatever assists you use to extend your combo you can gain a bunch of damage.

Basically it is:

lmh dp.L SJ IADF jH jS (land) mh dp.L SJ IADF jH jS (land) mhs (SJC) jM jM jH (DJ) jM jH jS (land) dp.L QCB-AA

I want to say alone it does 700k+ using 1 meter and builds a good amount of meter. Haven’t used it in a while.

You can do Chrisis’ older combo which is pretty easy and does high damage. Chrisis’ will have to correct me on this because I wasn’t sure but it was something like:

cr.M cr.H QCF.M xx QCF.S DP.L (SJ) IADF jH jS (Land) st.M st.H S (SJ) jM jM jH (DJ) jM jH jS (land) dp.L QCB-AA.

This one probably does around 800k maybe a little more. Sorry I don’t have the game on right now. Otherwise I would give you exact numbers.

Actually I type all this out and i have my own combo video wtf am I doing. I just hate reposting because those here who have seen it will probably get tired of it. Ohwell I’ll just link it instead of embedding it.

Because Viper can pretty much do however much damage she wants, I really try to make a point of picking the combo that gets the kill for the least amount of meter. I got no problems doing the 3 Bar combo’s if they get me the kill.

Is there a certain distance you have to be in order for Burst Time to hit fully while Midscreen? I always seem to get the otg with it and then the rest of the Hyper whiffs= Dead Viper

I just tried this out and I have a few questions about it. I seem to have big problems landing the second L Seismo. A lot of the time, the opponent is too low to connect. If I manage to get through that then I can’t really get the j.M after launch because the opponent seems to high. Also, I can’t seem to do any attacks after double jumping near the end of the combo. The opponent just flips out.

Since you haven’t used it in a while though, are there any other combos that are better that you would suggest? And does anyone have any combos that use Ammy’s Cold Star or follow ups for the unblockable setup using Cold Star and Focus Attack? Thanks.

There is a bit of timing you got to get use to there. But overall make sure you get the super jump off when you do the box dash part. If you manage to do that the hit-stun will be a little better to where you can time when the st.M comes when you land. Once you get use to it it isn’t as bad. After a while you will start doing one box dash rep to add assists to your combo which will yield better damage. Because 2 box dashes make hit stun decay a bit of a problem if you want to maximize damage.

how does super jump canceling with the box dash loop = better hitstun deterioration O.O is that just a mechanic?

you can see the difference if you just do a SJ off a box dash and a regular one. When preforming the S out of a box dash without a super jump the opponent will fall much much faster. If you use the SJ you will notice that the character will have some float to them and allows for easier box dash combos.

I believe this was Capcoms fix to having longer hit-stun in the air to continue combos high into the air (like you can in MvC2) while keeping combos close to the ground where you can juggle the opponent not so crazy. Of course you can trick the system by super-jump dashing to gain the property advantage that they want on their launcher. Im not sure this is how capcom really wanted this or this was their plan all along. Just speculation, but anyways its there and abuse it!

Yes, you have to be relatively close. Try to perform your air combo’s a bit later if you are midscreen, so you can drop faster to the ground. After landing, you should wavedash and/or Medium Thunder Knuckle to get closer. OTG windows are large, so you have more than enough time.

+1 to what Qareen said. I use a combination mid screen to get closer if I don’t try for a relaunch which is one wave dash and then M.TK kara Burst Time

appreciate the help man. i always thought using the ex burn kicks were a waste seeing as how marlinpie usually gets more damage using these combos (although with slight variation). i also noticed that the weight of the other character changes a bit when i sjc after and IAD.

i plan to make cviper a deadly fuckin force with ironman and magnus.

Decided to try my luck at a MarlinPiesque combo. Here it is. Very good damage for one hyper meter.

if i think i’m too far after a wavedash/kara’d TK i DHC after the OTG hits… works well into Proton Cannon.
maybe you could X-factor and relaunch? i’ve never tried it.

I can’t do the instant seismo on the player 2 side >_<

I don’t even have problems doing other characters’ TK motions on the player 2 side, but when I’m playing Viper I always screw up. I want to use her so bad, but if I can’t get that corrected it’s just not possible.

So does anybody have and BnBs I can use with Ammy’s Cold Star assist? I can’t seem to get the second box loop consistently at all.

Ammy cold star can be used at the end to set up infinite/get in multiple specials before super, watch Marlin Pie videos for really good combos using that assist. ^.^

At :30 In the combo and mixup video gottnoskill made where he box loops to burning kick feint combo, is there a different variation of that for V.joe? I was in the lab today and I havent the slightest cluse as to where to start. I tried one burning kick feint and I immediately went H, but after that its hard to continue the combo
