Sounds like more reason to learn SJC FADC. Good reference though.
how bad is the recovery of a blocked BK? Is it a couple frames shaved off? or enough frames for a punishment?

It leave you at neutral, so no more frame traping/fishing for counter hits.
Thing i’m most upset about is the nerf to back throw, it definitely puts you further back than in vanilla, you lose a lot of mixup potential. Sigh, if you can’t play footsies/be patient with viper, you’re going nowhere fast.
Is seismo frames and normal attack frames the same aside from crouching strong and crouching forward
All frames are the same except ground BKs. And only EX gets you owned on block.
I have no problem landing midscreen ultras on the new cast off of BKs. Sounds like you need more practice, sir.
The back throw really doesn’t bug me. Just means you need to be more creative. If you want auto-pilot, play Ibuki.
Well i had been up all day then i started testing that but the results with cody happened pretty much for an hour and a half. i have no problem hitting it on the vanilla characters. Now that i’m all well rested i’m gonna try again just to be sure though.
I’ve been messing around with Burning Dance in training mode and although I was having trouble figuring much of a use for it before my theories of its use against Honda’s neutral fierce game are pretty much so far what I’ve been looking for. Basically u can just randomly super jump forward at Honda and if u see him jump straight up in the air u can activate Ultra 2. If he tries neutral fierce forwards or back he will get beat as long as you’re at the same height or above him in the air. It beats the hit box of neutral fierce pretty clean and that’s great considering that was one of the things that straight killer her in this match before. It also seems to beat certain AA based normals like s.HP but that’s risky to do since u can’t really see s.HP come out before doing it. I was testing it against headbutts and buttslams and if u time it perfect it will kill EX headbutt start up frames and will beat the post start up frames (invincible frames) of LP headbutt. Goes right through and punishes LK butt slam and the other ones it will whiff against though I say it’s worth the risk since the recovery if you whiff Burning Dance is incredibly good.
When using Burning Dance to hit things on the ground u have to remember that Viper moves forward at like a 45 degree angle. If you’re trying to use it raw as a punishment u have to back yourself away from the opponent a bit first or you’ll go over their head. Which is why I’m learning c.HP or s.HP SJC to ultra 2 to not have to worry about that.
Thought the good news is overall this might not be quite the scrub ultra we thought it would be. In certain matchups so far it seems it’ll allow her to control air space and close the gap quicker.
**Did some messing around against Zangief. ** So far I’ve been able to beat every active frame of Gief’s PPP and KKK lariats with the Ultra. Even during wake up. Zangief’s always had a vulnerable hit box on top of his head during lariat and it seems Burning Dance finally gives us a powerful move that hits around that hit box. His hands will beat the burning dance clean since his hands have no vulnerable box so u just have to make sure you are hitting him near his head.
It’s really good when you do ex version, don’t know about without.
I got the game, and been playing some Viper.
U2 is really not that great. I rather stick with U1.
It seems the starting jump frames for all character was changed, now I have a hard time SJC normals to Ultra, anyone else who have the game have any trouble with (especially with jab,short,strong, and forward.) I more or less can do it with the Fierce.

Abel Ultra II is ridiculous I get caught by it every time. I try to jump and avoid but I get grabbed on the way down. If I just stand there and block I get grabbed. How do we avoid this thing.

If you jump at Abel while he has U2, you better be ready to hk BK over his head, otherwise you’ll get grabbed. If he activates and holds it and you jump at him after he activates it, you deserve to get hit by it. The ultra only goes slightly over half screen. Viper can easily get out of this range. Optimally you want to jump over his head, or you can play with fire and jump back just out of his range for a punish.
May be just be but LP/MP seismo after an EXTK feels a bit more lenient? It was good for when for whatever random reason, the EXTK put you out of range of walk forward cr. hp or cr. mk…
Hmm for whatever reason, hp tk seems way easier to cancel off jabs now. This makes empty jump > c lk > s lk > cr lp xx hp tk FADC Ultra a very useful corner setup imho.

Is there anything specific that u wanted to test with her super? It seems about the same to me. Does 420 damage. I know it had invincibility either high or low in the old game. Don’t know if that’s changed much in this game.
Was wondering about the startup mostly. Could just be my imagination but from what I’ve seen, it looks faster.
Yeah was wondering about the invincibility too. Could use it to go through fireballs in vanilla and stuff but the invincibility was really brief so it was hard. IIRC, it only went through fast fireballs too. Like you could go through fierce hadoken if you timed it right but anything else would stuff it.
Only thing i’ve noticed is that I can’t land cross up bk xx super midscreen anymore. Seems the extra recovery on bk makes it so it is just a little too slow to catch them.
Yeah I was noticing that about cross up burn kick to super also. One less reason to use her super I guess.
