raeli im not saying she is not a good character but she could benefit from so upgrades.i have my opinion and you have yours.

SaikyoBeast yes seen his videos were he plays against alot of high level players. watch him play against boxer players he runs or he gets life lead and runs. doing ground pound moves to keep them on there toes. watch him fight daigo he does not go all out on him he picks his shots and gets away. why because she can not win up close cause her option are not that great but are very risky with high rewards. so he gets life lead and runs. by runing i dont mean he turns into a complete turtle but he does not go balls out against his oppents.

EDIT: actually Lone Dragon I would much prefer chars to be more broken than more middle of the ground, when characters are all middle tier good but not great it can get boring.

Why do people keep comparing everyone to fricking Ryu?

Ryu is an overpowered character compared to the rest of the cast. You look at every thread, and people want their characters to be more like Ryu. They want awesome reversal DP’s that beat everything. They want awesome fast footsies like Ryu that can be canceled into easy damage. They want 3 frame jabs. They want ultras that are easy to combo.

People need to stop comparing their characters to Ryu, because RYU IS OVERPOWERED. He’s too good. You DON’T want your character to be too good, because it takes the fun and style out of them.

We don’t want Viper or any other lower/mid tier character to be like Ryu, because they would be overpowered and simplistic like Ryu. If Viper turned into a Ryu clone with a flawless DP, super normals, etc. she would be BORING.

Don’t change the mid-tier, low tier characters. Instead, tone down the high tier, overpowered characters like Ryu, so that they aren’t overpowered and simplistic anymore.

That’s not a problem with HER. That’s a problem with other characters who need to be adjusted. She has a nice balanced list of pros and cons, while some other characters only have pros.

Actually…what makes Ryu fun is the fact that he has so many options for so many situations, and because of this he can never be put in a bad one. A lot of characters in this game, lack options for certain situations which leaves much to be desired. Like when I play cammy I feel like I have no real options for approaching a turtle who justs sit there holding down back.

Also, viper a runaway character? :looney::rofl::looney:

But, if everyone has lots of options for every situation, the game becomes too dang easy. Everyone has high damage options at all times. Where’s the strategy?

Personally, I’d prefer a game where each character has certain situations where they thrive, and so the “game” becomes nudging your opponent into that advantageous situation…or knowing your opponent, and trying to avoid those situations.

Learn proper punctuation and grammar and maybe someone will take you seriously.

Loosing the bright red would help because most people see it and instantly assume you are an ass bag.

Well, in this game I’d like that because the characters, plus this games engine makes me feel like I have limited options since there isn’t a universal mechanic I can use to make up for my characters shortcomings.

Sigh, I’m about to mention 3s(lol), but for good reason. In this game when I play low-tier I feel more comfortable since I know what my opponent is going to try on me so I can look out for that, and use this to supplement my strategy.

Like if the same mechanics existed in SFIV then as cammy I could punish say a Balrog who always does an anti-air C.hp to keep me away by parrying it, and doing an Ex cannon strike into a big combo.

Since there isn’t something like this I feel more comfortable with Cammy having more options, like say, her hooligan throw actually being able to hit crouchers.

I think in general it’s dumb that the female characters all have to automatically have low health. That kind of thing shouldn’t be in a fighting game imo. So I’d say I agree with giving her more health. Maybe 950 since she does deal big damage.

Other than that there’s really only 2 things that I think are really really dumb and should be changed.

1 - Make her hp tk throw invincible.
2 - Cut the recovery of ex bk way down so that it’s similar to all of her non ex bks. her other bks leave her at frame advatage but her ex bk leaves her at a big enough disadvantage that you can punish her for free on block. Why the ex version is much worse in that respect to the non ex is dumb as hell.
3 - Possibly slightly more invincibility on her ex seismo or make it faster to startup so that jab mashing isn’t so gdlk against it.

Other than that some other changes would be nice, but none as important to me so I won’t list any other than give her a better outfit with no uniboob.

viper needs better normals or shit make it were the flame on her bk has hit boxes then at least you wounldnt have to be in your oppenets face. enjoy the red bitches

ok the lone dragon, i disagree with the situation…i don’t see why they need to actively tone down the good characters. that just takes the fun out of playing them. why not just make everyone better to level the playing field?

if everyone had something like uppercut fadc ultra on wake-up, that would be gross

Funny enough Viper has the tools to be a great runaway character. Any character that can fill the screen with ground based projectiles and is the only character in the game with a super jump is just asking to be used as a runaway character at least once. In some matches like Gief and Rog…she’s almost forced to. You don’t wanna play the ground game all day with those 2 characters and they also have trouble closing in on a Viper that’s constantly moving.

Viper’s rush would be stronger if you weren’t able to DP inbetween like all of her strings. Fine…you don’t want to give her awesome normals. That’s cool…that’s what makes her unique any ways. The issue is you can’t safely c.MP to MP knuckle pressure without risking getting DP’d or Ultra’d and that’s one of her best ways to land serious damage and keep up pressure on the ground. The only way for Viper to stay on top of her opponent at all times is to put herself in a ton of risk with flashy, high damaging but risky options like cross up burn kicks, EX seismos and knuckle strings. All COULD possibly lead to high damage but all could possible be poked out of (EX seismo, burn kick) or dragon punched/Ultra’d (all 3 mentioned options). Actually…burn kick is relatively low reward unless you combo it off an EX seismo or hit someone with it when they are in the corner. Otherwise it’s just for random pressure and you can maybe pray that it makes a DP whiff once in a while.

Specifically concerning c.MP to MP knuckle you can dragon punch or Ultra her inbetween the c.MP and the MP knuckle. It’s fine if you can DP or Ultra her after her frame advantage on block but being able to just interrupt her in the middle of the string itself just makes it so you have to knuckle feint your strings all the time which leads to you getting pushed away from the opponent even if it is a “mix up”. So the feinting does help the mix up in the sense that you save yourself from getting DP’d and it can occasionally cause the opponent to flinch but a good player will just lock up on crouch block and watch for the f+MP overheads. Then you have to put yourself in a position to go in for the same mix up or hope that they finally flinch and throw out a normal which you could then EX seismo or whiff punish with c.MP or c.MK to knuckle and repeat the process. Viper also has the random factor with the cross up instant SJ burn kick but that doesn’t innitially lead to any damage. It just puts the person in a techable knockdown situation and makes them that much more itchy to reversal you.

Yep. Perhaps the latest design contest winner (Gucci Viper) will inspire Capcom to do an alt costume for her sans the huge wall of braided hair. Hell, i’d settle for just having the braid start at the back of her head, as opposed to the top. :coffee:

give her slightly better normals
change her super jump command to 2 kicks or 3 kicks

Huh? How do you guys come up with this stuff? Why do you want her super jump to be 2 kicks?
