C.Viper changes/alterations

I’m a PS3 pad warrior, and I can do FFF and other feints consistently. It’s not impossible.

At this point, making it K instead of PP now would just screw over players going back and forth between SF4 and SSF4…making us go back into training mode for hours to muscle memorize something we’ve already learned.

Maybe if both options are available?

Don’t know why ya’ll are saying FFF is hard on pad, because when I was a pad warrior (360 controller) I found FFF incredibly easy.

Also, ex tk has lots of uses, and is plenty safe on block. It’s fine, I think. Just underutilized by most Vipers I see.

IMO she is pretty balanced. but with a few changes she may even be more balanced

-lower stun dmg by a little bit
-increase health by 50
-reduce ultra dmg
-slower overhead

Cancel with k instead of punch.

Normal health

HP TK has a little more priority.

Not really much to change.

slower overhead ? it’s already slower than ryu’s or guile’s (and by a lot)

I don’t think C.Viper needs anything changed. She works really well at the moment but you need a high skill level to play her. Usually Viper players like that about her though.

As a blanket statement,ex tk is not safe on block.
it’s block safety is spacing dependent big time.

The ex tk needs some tweaking is all,plus yelling burn knuckle would be a nice plus.

I have backdashed other vipers ex tk they were trying to use to chip me out off a wake up.

make her anatomically correct… that is all. I don’t use her, and I don’t think that she is over or under powered from playing against her, but they need to make her body look like her concept art. Seriously… who made her and thought that is how breasts look.

wtf why is everyone saying she is fine the way she is?cause she is not and some of you dont even play her. i know magneto manic(sp) plays here and here in atl we were looking forward to him playing her on the psn against our EP players. anyways for the most part she is not balanced. she from a design point of view is a character that is suppose to be aggresive but the more i play her against the cast i fined out she really is a runaway character. why because her normals are shitty there slow and no priority. her fastest normal hits on the 5th frame and you cant really combo off her over head expect when its really spaced right. she needs hp tk invinicible on wake up cause other then that she has nothing but risky wake up options. her hp tk can be beaten out by jump in’s and then it trades in there advantage. other dp characters beat jump in’s clean. all her fights are an up hill battle cause she can not play footies or be aggressive because her normals/specials are slow and crappy priority. for the most part all im asking for is better faster normals or give her already slow normals better priority. be able to combo off her overhead up close. a real invinicible dp and her flame kick better. the only part of the flame kick that hits are her legs not the flame part. so that means she has to get closer to them were she doesnt want to be against her oppenets is close because her normals are slow. i belive ryu cr.mp hits on the 5th frame and vipers fastest normal a standing jab hits on the 5th frams! boxer can spam his god like normals and specially his cr.jab up close or when she gets close. she cant do anything and she needs faster normals. if they dont do anything but make her normals faster then that will make be happy. im not asking for any gamebreaking shit either. juri is already looking over powered. two over heads and a dive kick plus projectiles. good normals and air combos off jump in’s. fast dash with a good focuse(which viper needs is a better focuse)

neg me but if you main viper then you have to understand she is very limited cause she seems very good form an outside of point of view but when it comes to breaking down the character and her limitations. she does not stack up well against everyone else.

I was gonna write everything you said, good thing you saved me the trouble. I’ll say I dont know if this happens to anyone… But lets say i knock someone down, I go for a mind game like make it seem like imma throw the opponent but instead go for a burning kick, the player wakes up with c.jab my flame kick gets beat clean. IMO she needs something to fight charge characters…More priority on her hp TK. I think that is a must, she has nothing to wake up wit besides ex Seismo.

Viper is a very good character because she benefits greatly from the SFIV system.

Of course you’re not going to get up there and mash jab and hold your own against Boxer. The only normals you need are low forward, jumping roundhouse, overhead and standing fierce.

And then you start talking about stuff that doesn’t even make sense, and start fucking up your spelling and etc, talking about Juri who isn’t even out yet, etc etc etc…

They need to seriously fix superjump cancel FADC, to give you the equivalent of meterless fadc.

Sorry if I came across like a dick about the ex tk business. That’s what happens when I pull all nighters. I gotta stop doing that.

Well, that’s an example of how not to use ex tk.

I never use ex tk as a meaty. I mostly use it when I know the other player is gonna lose their trip guard and I have ultra/they have low health. Or if they’re doing a lot of dashing or empty focus dashing. And if you perform it with proper spacing, there’s very little you can be punished with, and most of that requires reversal timing, which can be tricky since ex tk gives a deceptive amount of blockstun. Even if you don’t do it at optimal distance, it can still be pretty tricky to punish on block.

But I’m not saying that it’s an incredible move or anything. It’s mediocre and often times you should save the meter for ex seismos, but it’s more useful than some folks give it credit for. If Viper wasn’t already a strong character, I’d probably say buff ex tk. But not every character really needs every ex move to be amazingly useful.

And although she could definitely benefit from some minor tweaking, from the tone and content of your post, you sir need to play a different character, probably one that can mash out jab and reversals, hmmm?

…Although I’d like to see more invincibilty on her EX seismo and a slighty faster, 65-70 degree Hp knuckle, as opposed to the 45 degree one we have now.
