C.Viper changes/alterations

By faster they mean just the “charge” up speed, not the actual FA attack itself meaning you can charge up to FA lvl 2 faster etc. The FA itself will still come out at the same speed as normal.

Console characters are gonna be wrecking people with their ridiculous FAs. Fei will be crumpling people all day from mid screen.

Well her actual FA will be faster but that’s due to the relativity of the actual game speed being faster rather than giving her less frames lol.

IMHO all Viper needs in this game is for the god damn hitboxes to get fixed. Her cr mk is a given, but there’s A LOT of wonky hitbox stuff that almost exclusively fucks her over. Examples are Boxer’s Headbutt reaching like 4ft beyond his head, Ryu’s FA that hits half a screen further than the animation shows, all cr mk dodge shenanigans, and the list goes on.

Basically, just fix the shit that doesn’t make sense. Viper being grabbed half through her mp tk animation is also a prime example. Why is that hitbox not active yet? The animation CLEARLY shows her with her fist forward and lightning shooting out of it. If lk BK is supposed to be for hopping over low attacks then why is the main counter to it to CROUCH jab her out of it? ETC.

Yeah the hit box on headbutt is pretty retarted. For a character that has to basically sometimes be airborne to get her offense going Rog doesn’t have to think a lot while sitting on down back to just release a headbutt and take her out of the sky without much risk.

The MP Thunder Knuckle thing more has to do with frames than hit boxes. What a lot of people don’t realize about what they did with Viper is that to counter act her high damage and quick maneuvering they made all of her special moves slow as shit. As in the start up frames are unheard of for a SF character. Her MP thunder knuckle actually takes longer to hit the opponent than the LP knuckle. MP Thunder Knuckle requires 18 frames of revving up before it can actually hit the opponent. The hit box is really good and the recovery is great but it’s really hard to use it in footsies any ways when you are dealing with moves that come out 2 and 3 times as fast.

I don’t know…I’m not sure if burn kick might have ended up being a little too good if it beat all crouching attacks but it’s pretty lame that c.LP spam negates it so easily. The bigger problem really is just Viper has almost nothing to deal with c.LP spam other than spacing herself away from it and trying to counter hit it with a normal or just hope they do something else. Flash Metroid’s matches vs. vvvScrubvvv and J.Wong were a prime example of just what little Viper can do against mashing jabs.

TBH she looks mostly the same :(, abit dissapointing but will probably need the game to be purely sure. as for cr.MK i only saw it once in the video and it was at the same range it would normally hit in SF4 so i wasnt able to tell if it has the proper hit box it should be. U2 does look like it can be very useful and does decent amount of damage but requires you to SJ backwards instead of forwards after a EX seismo, still think U1 will be better though. ibuki is looking real good too , really liking the mix up potential she can offer, Have a slight urge to use her too now.

I think the nerfs to the top tier will make her better…as with most of the mid/low tier characters.

So, even if she looks the same, she’ll improve. Which is fine, because she already was a well-designed character.

Someone on the Fuerte thread rumored Viper having 950 health now. I’m not ready to believe it, but if that’s true I’ll certainly be happy. Hopefully none of those nerf rumors are true either and if all this is the case I’m sticking with Viper.

Anatomy aside, I’m seriously considering dropping her from main to 2nd alt., behind Abel and Cody.
