Seriously nothing yet. They said everyone was supposed to get “buffs” so I’m really annoyed at how most speculation or word of mouth has been “well Viper is going to be/seems mostly the same”. If that were the case then I don’t understand why Seth initially said that she was a candidate for top tier now. If they made everyone else suck I could believe that but if they buffed everyone up in a game that C.Viper already had trouble being better than…what’s really going on with Viper? I thought everyone was supposed to get a new special move. :lol:
if they did give viper a new special…wonder what it be…thinking of captain commando moves like captain fire and his assists lol.
Well I certianly plan on taking up Ibuki, I still have love for Vipes. Seth was just full shit when he said Viper and Sim will be top tier. He was just listing off unique characters that he felt were underplayed. No hate for Seth though, I agree that Viper and Sim are awesome.

either way, shes not getting a new special. i just hope they give the elbow drop some more hit stun. id love it if the BK was an over head too…but that might be too strong (although it would be logical). i hope they make it so you can combo out of the ex-bk.

Still though extremely disappointed in her gain of startup frames for her hp tk if that is true.
I know a lot of us viper players were fairly conservative in asking anything, only some slight frame improvements to make her somewhat competitive in the footsies game.
But to my surprise if they are truly bumping up teh time for hp tk, well…lets see
C.viper= 7 frames startup…soon to be 8 or 9 frames
Ryu = 3 frames
Ken = 3 frames
Akuma = 3 frames
Sagat = 5 frames
Seems…hardly fair…
Her hp tk already gets thrown, beaten by jumpins etc…sigh…
now her crappy AA is crappier…
and FFF harder? C’mon, is this necessary?, whats the justification behind this? I’m not gonna lie, i was able to learn it in a month or so, not fast, not too slow…and yes its easier now…but why? the odd times i miss my third F in FFF…now it will occur more frequently…
Now that i’m thinking more aobut it…all her feint game…throw…cross bk…etc…nerfed…due to that one frame added…
i mean currently ppl can mash jab out of a feint into whatever…imagine another frame tapped on it…
U’d think something like j.hk into ex snake strike or dp>fadc> ultra…should be harder…true the ex snake was weaker…but it just doesnt add up…and maybe it doesnt cuz we dont know her improvements (if any)
So her weakness…health and inability to defend and escape pressure well…what can they do?

Adding a frame to HTK’s startup would make HTK feints easier, no? I don’t care if they make it slower tbh IF the frames they add have throw and hit invulnerability.
If they added feint recovery, then it would be slightly hard to link into c.mp, but it would still be easier than linking from MTK feint. Adding recovery to the feint seems strange though… What could have possibly warranted that change?
Same thing that warranted removing Gen’s full mk hands combo and giving Sagat a new godlike special.
FWIW, I’ve read that Keno was wrong about Gen losing full hands combo. Also read that EX Oga still has invincibility. Now we know from SRK members that at the Las Vegas test EX Oga didn’t have invulnerabilty. So it’s very possible that Keno played a different build to the ones the playtesters have.
Or maybe everyone is just full of shit :lol:
I agree. It would add another dimension in keeping people on their toes, especially in mix-ups and blockstrings.
Did they fix the hit box on her cr.MK? you know like when her foot should hit something but instead it doesn’t?
Considering SFIV has WAY more hit box issues than 3S did…I hope so.

Yeah, which is really dumb. Here’s to hoping Capcom fixes that dumb shit so you actually hit with her foot. The range of her c.mk has always urked me because of how wrongfully deceiving it is.
It would be cool if you could do thunder knuckle in the air at a downward angle. I don’t know how it would help but I want C viper to be more like cammy.
Or you could just do burning kick cross up shenanigans like you’re suppose to. I want C. Viper to stay C. Viper. If I’m in the mood to play Cammy, I’ll play Cammy.
