Because the changes aren’t 100% positive (which they mostly likely aren’t correct) a speed boost on roundhouse and a buff on ultra 2 aren’t enough to jump a tier because roundhouse is good spaced correctly and the hitbox loses to a lot of stuff as well as the start up, however, if you see an early jump in, feel free to use it. For anti-air, you should still anti air with HP Thunder Knuckle because of the trade benefits and the longer knockdown benefits. Roundhouse as an anti air doesn’t make anything better because anything that it does, HP Thunder Knuckle does better.
Ultra 2 does not signify a tier jump because it still does less damage than ultra 1, it gives them way more meter than ultra 1, and you lose all of your pressure game because you can’t do anything else besides Seismo U2. Jumping over fireballs and using U2 isn’t practical because you can only use U2 @ a certain height.
She’s already viable, she’s fine. The nerfs just alot to her risks being of less of a risk. People just can’t think outside the box and they tend to stick to playing on what they read on a thread. Instead of just thinking. She will still face the same “problems” because people thrive on complaining instead of improving (Not targeting you nor to offending the people here, or boost my ego, I am garbage)
I will have AE here on monday so I’ll put up alot of videos of me playing
Btw: apparently the only change on U2 is hitbox properties…
lol you aren’t garbage dude, don’t try and be humble, this is Viper forums baby. =p
I have to say that Lainy is most likely just experiencing that placebo effect. He is looking really hard for hidden changes that are almost certainly not there.
Its 99.9% likely that nothing has changed but U2, so yeah… absolutely nothing. Though I would love to believe all Lainy’s news with 100% of my heart.
I still don’t want to celebrate any kind of rise Viper gains through the nerfs everyone else got that were good though. Just feels wrong, like we won because the other team got disqualified for being incapacitated, lol.
But fucking cheers to Blanka being pure ass now. Let’s see how Sakura vs Blanka stacks up now, troll!
I think after seeing how badly some characters got it, (like Cammy, poor girl) and Capcom’s lame approach to ‘balancing’ I guess we would have to be crazy to think we didn’t dodge a huge bullet this time around.
I wish super never happened. The new characters and the crappyness of the “balancing” aren’t worth it. Does anyone else remember how much more fun EVERY character was in vanilla? (guile isn’t a character)
I didn’t get serious with Viper until Super, so I have only a vague idea how much she changed. Regardless, I like her as is. The only things I truly want to see fixed are the glitch-esque elements such as her c. lk and cr. mk. I think people are generally very closed-minded in their approach to Viper and that’s part of the problem - but that’s the hypothesis of a SF noob. I personally wish we just had more time.
I definitely care. The move is malfunctional. How could one not care? It’s not just an issue for Viper’s ground game, but it’s a general quality issue in regards to the game, holistically. Why would I want any glitches in my paid-for software?
shrugs
If cr. mk worked, I could space people better. I don’t need her footsies to be strong or even respectable - just functional. Give me 60 damage for every time my opponent pushes the wrong button outside my range and they have to respect it. That would open up so much.
This. Despite that C.mk is still viable, with a proper hitbox it would be so much more viable. If it had an improved hitbox she could usse xx MP Thunder Knuckle to get in and then Viper can go to work with the usual.
However, I too have stopped giving a fuck and have accepted C.MK for what it is.
Actually crouching forward works exactly how Capcom intends it to work. The issue with the normal is simply its appearance. In reality where Vipers C.FWD whiffs is where her sweep will connect, and where seismo mind games come into play making people antsy and jumpy. As far as changes flash had a pretty good list of changes about cl.short whiff range its pretty stupid, the spacing that the move whiffs at is exactly like her C.FWD, although CL.STRONG and CL.FWD will connect from that range its just annoying. As far as a Viper bandwagon is concerned I highly doubt that will happen, its already been two iterations of SF4 so that phase has been long since over when people were claiming her to be “broken” in vanilla. Once people get owned up by rog, dictator, or any other super buff character with GDLK normals and the realize they have to actually block and get innovative they’ll drop her pretty fast.
lol no kidding. We’re talking about the most worthless generation of fighting game players yet. Even with the ultra-lax input system of SF4 they still have to rely on mashing :df: + :lp: as fast as possible. And they think they are going to be sjc fadcing ultra? lol
There isn’t a chance in hell the other 99% of the SF4 population is going to switch to her, even if Flash, Wolfkrone, and Sanford take top 3 at EVO’11. lol
