Alright, I’ll admit that it’s very punishable(read up the frames too, -15 is pretty nuts lol).
But anything can be confirmed, as long as you can react to the first move hitting. Look at TM, he hitconfirms shit like cr.LP->SA2 and even cl.MK->Super consistently.
Yeah, that’s true. I mean it’s not really a reasonable thing to try to confirm (partially because of a range issue) if you’re learning stuff to confirm.
I spent some time practicing some of the confirms in the video, and I was surprised how easy the Ken mp,hp -> lp srk was actually. I got that down relatively quickly. Same with Hugo’s lp clap, cr. mk.
Dudley’s in the video was more difficult, so I’ll spend some more time with it.
You can buffer so much so while it at first seems impossible to confirm off just about anything it really isn’t when you’re looking for it. To hit and then decide in an instant to super off some random poke when you’re not ready is what’s really ridiculous.
Being ready 100% of the time is what separates the guys who are ridiculous hit confirmers from everyone else.
It also helps to look/listen for one specific cue all the time. Whether it be those little ball explosions when someones hit, the grunt they make, the lifebar moving, etc. The more you focus on that little thing you’ll be surprised what you can confirm. It’s just a matter of training your brain to look for and be prepared for that moment.

Great vids. Any chance you could do Urien’s midscreen partition setups on characters like Necro, Dudley, Alex. Really it’s the timing in general on those that I have trouble with. I know I can’t be the only one out there.
command grab is very unsafe on block, the only reason why people don’t seldom punish it is because you almost never see it on block. good oro’s don’t really do that move that often
i can hit confirm Q’s low jab and cl.s.mk into super, but i cannot hit confirm s.mk/c.mk into command grab
the reason for this is because mk does not provide enough hit stun. another reason is that you can cancel the command grab very late, but due to the mk hit stun hitting so short and command grab start up being so long, timing is very tight
Q’s supers are almost instant making it an easier connect as well large hitstun on the close mk, the low jab, i don’t know why it’s so easy to hitconfirm (probably cause the super is so fast), that timing is not even a cancel, more like a link
Doesn’t the close MK not always combo into command grab if you are a little far on thinner characters as well? That was something I’ve found as an issue with confirming it.
EDIT:: It’s cr. MK that has the range issue. Haven’t tested this shit in forever, sorry x.x
This is in reference to the testing done with Q by Thyallmighty, cr jab followed by super is indeed a link. I did a little checking up on Q’s framedata. Cr jab gives at least +4 on hit and Q’s SA2 is 2 frames startup.
