Well trash has joined the “can only perform one special in the air before dropping to the ground defenseless.” club with Dormammu. Only way to preform more action and drop to the ground safely is the use of flight.
I wonder will the same hold ture for strange in finished game.
From what I’ve observed, he looks like he can only do two grapes before falling defenseless in one jump. He can also only do 1 EoA before falling like a rock. I can’t tell you how many times Ive seen people do the Eye in the air then jump again to get it moving with an air impact palm
EoA on the ground is better for lockdown purposes anyway. we should be using flight+assist as much as possible to protect Strange while putting those grapes out.

I think Hidden Missiles would benefit strange a lot. I use it with dormammu to buy time and store spells so the same could be done w/ strange.

Magneto or Nova imo. Super-high mobility melee
yeah Mags is definitely gonna be a problem. repulsah and estaka are still gonna be very annoying for getting in. locking Mags down and going for a left-right into combo is a good way to kill him. we’ll see the usefulness of L Mystic Swords as an anti-air in this matchup to protect the skies while he’s doing those damn trijumps. if he super jumps, Mags will either a) Flight-tridash cancelling to get out of trouble, b) trijump H or S, c) Magnetic Blast adub Magnetic Blast. you -could- anti air trijump L off a normal jump, but forget it unless you have the reactions. high chance it’s option B, so learn the spacing with L Swords and combo or cancel into Vishanti for a good ~40% on Mags off an anti-air.
Strider may be a problem with the tracking teleport kick. It would ruin his set ups imo. does anyone else see this?
To add, I think Illusion will be great against like nemesis H and Ghost Rider H (altho’ not S), but terrible against tridash madness
Edit@seth: Teleports in general will arguably be a slightly bad scene for him, but daggers should help some, since they’ll totally track backwards (altho maybe thats why you said TK kick, which’ll make 'em vanish)
I don’t see how doing something that requires thought to continue your air actions is such a big deal. Dorm got a bunch of buffs including teleport cancel after finger shot. I guess he really needed more self mix ups…
When you consider that a lot of characters have no counter at all…better than nothing. Plus if he has a solid air throw or s.L anti air that will help too.
Its not a big deal, its just strange that Strange won’t have to, if what we have seen in Maxes videos is the final version of the game.
So drop 2 flip the switch on flight and we can drop 3 and fall as normal.
Precisely. I think it’s funny that strange can get two spells airborne but his rival can’t, most likely because dorms are more devastating
I know a lot of people are hyping up EoA as an assist, but does anyone else think Whatevers of Denak is gonna be a good assist? Only problem being that he stays out a while so you have to treat it like drones.
