"By the hoary hosts of Hoggoth!" The Doctor Strange Thread!

Strange punishing Strider’s legion on reaction with his level 3 is… epic. Seems to have totally essentially instant startup out to range.

Decent range, kinda slow. A few of them anyways.

Where was this at?!

I didn’t wanna link it again, but its in the Jwong/Dios-X vid from fight club. I’d timestamp it, but I never remember how :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to hate on yo vid but is there a video out there with better quality?

jeez dios x really wanted to win those set of games didnt he

Its funny, its one of the few cases where somebody wins a big public event and probably loses respect for it.

He wanted to test his new tourney team… against a bunch of pros more interested in showing everyone what the new characters can do.

damn L Discs is fast. that thing’s like a tracking fireball that starts homing in on your opponent as soon as it’s out.

How fast does Stranges SOV recover?

I just thought of a nasty HTC mix up with the dude.

you gotta wait for the dude to put his arms down first lol

Not a problem.

So you can obviously use flight to extend ground combos after Impact Palm for extra damage and meter if you already have Graces set up.

I wonder if you can use flight to do fly combos in the air ala Sent? Would something like sj.MMH xx fly -> LMHS work or something along those lines, or do Strange’s normals not allow for easy fly combos after an air magic series? It would definitely be nice to squeeze as much damage and meter as possible off a BnB.

What you do is tag on a #t=2m06s to the end, it took me a while to remember, but after running two video threads for 8 months, it kinda sticks.

I would be disappointed if he didn’t have flight combos, but after all the stuff I’ve been hearing bout his normals and how slow they are, I can’t say I would be surprised. But since he doesn’t have an air dash, his flight combos won’t even be that long, so I guess its not that great of a loss.

in the sdcc build i saw videos of j.mmhs fly lmhs being done might just be a standard ender

I was wondering, how does Impact Palm behave after a crumple hit? I tried out both of Viper’s crumpling moves, EX TK and FA, and they both seemed to cause soft knockdown. if this is the case with Impact Palm, then I’m pretty sure it’s going to be one of Strange’s staple normals-- it’s going to be nasty in resets and combos because it should behave like Magneto’s standing fierce (large hitbox and soft knockdown).

edit: soft knockdown also means that palm xx H swords loop will keep going for as long as you link palm after each rep (since they won’t flip out of the air). my guess is about 4-5 reps before they drop out and you’re forced to end it with SoV.

edit 2: watched one of the older gameplay videos and it is indeed soft knockdown after crumple. yay.

Just so you guys know (I dont know if this has been said or not) but The Disks of Denak can also be done in the air, which would get rid of the tracking problem if you super jump and perform the disks. This is assuming he can perform multiple actions in the air. Also theres a lot of Dr. Strange gameplay in this live stream vid where he did the Disks in he air

Does strange need an Otg assist or can he Otg himself?

He OTGs with Light Discs of Denak. Read the thread next time huh?

I can’t watch more than 4 minutes of that video since the guys playing are garbage but it’s good to see a couple things I guess. I’d really like to see them use more of mystic sword since that seems to me much faster and more applicable for zoning. They keep throwing out M discs for zoning and those are definitely more so supposed to be for setting up 50/50 teleport mix ups and set up combos. Especially with the long start up good players will just rush down discs used strictly for zoning.

I would imagine the disc disappears if Strange gets hit any way.
