DoD do indeed disappear if Strange gets hit, 3 discs seems like good anti teleport (they home behind him) and against anybody without beams, but anybody WITH beams will go right through them like they’re not there. If you’re a melee fighter against 3 discs, seems like you have to either superjump over them (which gives Strange time to do setups or whatever), or try to dash inbetween which seems crazy.
Early on I bet discs>super cancel to 7 rings will be an effective baiting gimmick
and I ws thinking. What do you do vs. Strange if you’re playing Arthur? Quietly weep, or hope he’s paralyzed by the fact that he has way too many ways to slap you aside as if you weren’t there?
don’t play Arthur. simple. Vanilla has no 9-1 or 10-0 matchups to my knowledge (yeah, even Haggar has a chance of killing Phoenix due to lariat’s invincibility/lucky pipe hit) but that may be the first in Ultimate. Strange has too many ways to get around Arthur’s zoning. Rings counter, XF, SoV should be 80% on Arthur easily.
Yeah the players are ass, i just wanted to let people know that he can perform the DoD in the air which would maximize their tracking ability if you superjumped and did them, that way the opponent has no choice but to block allowing you to teleport behind them or set up a GoH
Actually, a master Viper is supposed to have a fuckton of 10-0 matchups in Vanilla. That’s just Theory Fighter Chrisis talks about though.
And I guess Arthur would just have to tag out or try and predict and punish a teleport with the whole Heaven/Hell Slash thing, do basic magice series into TAC, and get someone better suited in there.
Some things I’m imagining would work with Strange.
SoV DHC to Devil Trigger will probably give enough time for Dante to teleport and combo with a Hammer or something. Possibly even Acid Rain if you’re fast enough but I doubt that. Strange doesn’t seem to use any ground bounces or wall bounces, or even assists for decent combos, so he’s a great candidate for a Devil Trigger DHC user. Dante could also probably use Eye of Agamotto to combo into Prop Shredder even after all the hitstun scaling, similar to Dormammu’s Dark Hole assist+Prop Shredder combo.
I believe the first hit of Bolts causes a stumble, so I bet if you X-Factor it, you can teleport and do a 100% combo with something.
I love how, in that posted vid, around 1:12 Zero gets hit by the Eye o’ Avocado, Strange misses the first Impact Palm, hits the second, and STILL has enough time to combo after the Eye hits.
you bet I’m gonna be figuring out all his loops day 1. count on me to have that shit up as footage within the first couple days of release. not only hype for Strange’s tricks but definitely also his combos.
