I’d bet yes, actually. It seems to be their pattern for that kind of thing.

Thing is Triple would screw up hitstun so a little iffy about it being an OTG. Your hitstun/damage would drop with triple.

an otg assist is always handy to have tho’, depending on the character.

Hidden missiles is surpisingly one of the better OTG assists when used with the right characters even though it throws out 8 missiles that scale like hell.

True… but with hitstun/damage scaling seeming to have been amped up in Ultimate, it could be bad.

But the EoA resets/mixups are gonna be fun. Throw it out as an assist, then they either eat it or you set up a mix up from it.

Yeah I think I’m gonna like the options with disk assist plus teleporting vergil.

to muddy the waters, the most recent set of reports says that the first half of Bolts of Balthakk is lower, and forces most people to block while ducking (the second one is apparently still higher tho’), which makes it a bit better as an assist as well.

people always run to the dude with a huge sword first. just sayin’ lol

but anyways, I feel Strange is gonna be like Doom where you’ll need to learn like one or two combos/loops tops and focus more on his movement, traps, mixups, and resets. that’s gonna be his strongest point after all. movement and protecting him with assists will be critical for this character. people are gonna be scared to zone Strange out because he has a choice of either teleporting+assist, fullscreen SoV punish/Seven Rings counter, or Illusion countering.

the combo situation is gonna be weird if you use FotF in your combos if you have any grace out lol

for some reason I thought there was a big bit of scaling that jumps in the move after an OTG. It wouldn’t surprise me if I’d entirley pulled the idea out of my ass tho’ :stuck_out_tongue:

Strange seems that he’ll be a character like Dormammu in that, instead of really being a keepaway character, more of trying to get you with a stray hit to start a combo, as well as shutting down projectiles. Dormammu’s normals kill projectiles, Dark Hole is good, and you just buy time for spells.

Strange will have less mobility than Dorm (Dorm has air dash, more hp and damage potential as well), and Strange looks like he’ll be more dependent on his setups to strengthen his moves. I mean, his orbs stay on screen even when he’s OFF screen, so that tell’s you something.

Teleport looks to be the defining factor IMO. The thing is soo fast, it could be abusive.

Strange has flight at least. And the teleport being the fastest of the entire cast helps. Put stuff on screen, wait for the opponent to get flustered, ToD or severely wound.

That’s what I mean. Teleport is meant to be used after seting up his arsonal of moves…but with the speed of it, it’s gonna be used in more interesting ways then most. It also has to do with Strange’s normals. Are they that good? Or are they blah? That too plays a factor.
