I honestly think it was to show that he can and how fast his teleport are.
Maybe also because if you don’t teleport the beam will track them but then you’ll be unnecessarily 50 feet away after the super. Not many characters will be able to easily DHC after that super and still land hits though. Unless you got like Doom in the back who can throw up sphere flame afterwards.

I wouldn’t say broken but I’ve seen enough to be convinced that he’ll most likely be within top 10 characters of the game unless some crazy shit happens. He won’t be as easy to use as say Vanilla Wolverine or Wesker was but the potential to run the game is very much there. Very little he can’t do and especially with how teleports run this game I definitely see him being high tier.
Not really phased by the hawkeye arrows. Characters in a lot of anime style games have poison attributes on projectiles. It’s not like the arrows create a high low mix up or poison you on block. People are going to be mashing on raw tags or super jumping away to wear it off. It only did the equivalent of like 1/6th damage on Strider who has the worst health in the game any way. If hitting Hawkeye makes the poison effect go away then that would make it more manageable also.
The total value of his different arrow types and the speed will make him a force but I don’t see people landing poison arrows often outside of combos.
i hope that when Virgil is revealed all the hype stays on Strange and in this thread, i would like to be one of the few Virgil players…LOL

Doubtful, everything about Vergil screams hype magnet, both aesthetically for the kiddies, and all the cool shit they could potentially implement into his MvC3 incarnation from the source material.

You expect a character extremely closely related to the most anticipated MVC character in the last 10 years to leave you being one of the few who play him? Vergil is gonna get ridden like the hottest two dollar whore as soon as that trailer is out. MegaMan will be erased from people’s minds for at least a week from all the Vergil circle jerking. Even Strange is gonna be sloppy seconds for a while to Vergil.

Wolverine/Dante/Akuma was the original “I just like to pick the cool guys” day one shit online so I wouldn’t be surprised if people keep Dante in with his twin and then run Strider at the end as the new cool guys day one shit that gets whored to no end.

truer words have never been spoken. as soon as ironfist, nova, vergil and rocket raccoon drop (and possibly corny ass Phoenix Wright), everyone will wipe the Strange jizz from their chin and hop on the next jabroni. Still glad he made it in though. Been waiting on his inclusion in a vs game. He’s gonna have some dirty little tricks and combos.
Lots of people are gonna play Virgil/Dante/Trish. In fact that probably will be a very good team if Dante doesn’t get nerfed as much as I think he has been.
