Well, what if you set a trap on one side of the screen, teleported to the other side of the screen and set a trap, then teleported back again, and then activated the beam? Then what would happen?

this isn’t the first time a character has mysteriously forgotten to block in a character reveal trailer. Mark my words, that attack will not hit opponents from behind if they’re blocking the point character correctly.
I agree, it doesn’t look like it hits from behind. Paired with the fact that it crumples, I find it hard to think otherwise.
Teleporting after you activate the beam is the same thing as an acid rain self assisted mix up with Dante. He puts a projectile that you can’t escape from as you’re coming in and then left rights around you. If you don’t just frame block when the rain comes down on top of you you get hit.
The rain falling on you is your crunch time to decide whether or not Dante will teleport to cross you up. If you sit there blocking and Dante decides not to teleport when the rain falls you’re protected from a left right mix up and stay blocking. If Dante decides to flinch around you with a teleport right before you get rained on and you don’t switch your block you get hit. You’re basically put in a heads or tails situation right before the rain.
Generally there’s just no such thing in Marvel or most fighting games where a projectile hits from behind and a projectile that hits from behind is unfair to the point where people would want it patched out quickly. Especially since all you have to do is teleport to force them to block the wrong way any way.
I actually hope youre correct because at this point it seems like if he gets in front of you and the beams behind your ass is hit.

Yeah, I’m pretty Dante just didn’t block it. Like how we weren’t sure Modok could (crouch) block regularly given his early trailers never showed him blocking anything.
As people have been saying, trailers are made to show what a character can do, not to show characters being competitive and actually trying play strategy against each other–yes, blocking is a strategy (that many people still seem to fail at).

Yeah it’s like if there was a trailer of Dormammu putting out a M or H dark hole behind the opponent and the opponent decided to get hit by it. The dark hole didn’t cross them up they just didn’t block the hole. I could put a trailer of that out before the game came out and I’m sure a bunch of people would have thought that dark hole crosses you up. LOL.
I like how this is day 1 Strange thread, and he already has more posts than every other new character except for Strider. Seems everyone digs this guy lol

…can we please not make doomsday comparisons to vanilla characters? People saying “co-sign @ reverse Phoenix air actions nerf” should please remember that not just a month ago, we were all wondering how Phoenix could be reworked to still be effective and not be…what she is now. Saying characters have been made obsolete after seeing about six total minutes of “hey check this out” footage is a little bizarre, so let’s please still be excited without being…dumb?

Doctor Strange being so popular isn’t all that surprising, especially since he’s rather well-known compared to everyone else released so far outside of maybe Ghost Rider (and that’s probably only because of that horrible Nicholas Cage movie [which I did not see]); I’m not counting Strider Hiryu here because I’m pretty sure very few people knew about him before he appeared in MvC1. It helps that he’s flashy and seems to have so many options, though. (Ugh, so many things omitted…)

That being said im excited to play as strange, definately seems they gave him a fancy toolbet to mess around with. So far he and firebrand are the most I am looking forward to.
