to test it out and worked fine on my PS2 and PC even with both cables connected to the board. But last night went to a friends house and tested it on his PS3 and couldn’t get the damn thing to work properly either by usb or ps2+converter, the buttons didnt respond and left direction was always on. Just retested it on PC and PS2 and is working fine… anyone with experience on these pcb knows why this happens?
Since it’s a handcrafted PCB, it’s quite possible it simply doesn’t work from a ps2-ps3 converter. This is just like how some PS1 digital controllers don’t work well in converters, while the dualshock controllers do work.
Also, if it works for PC, that shouldn’t mean it will work on the PS3 by the same USB port.
That video seems like its intended to just be advertising. It’s really annoying how they just say “this one” instead of making it clear which one they’re talking about.

Since I have been unable to source a Madcatz or Hori stick in Italy, I would be glad to get one of these Chinese ones, especially the full-Sanwa stuff.
Any good pointers?
My english is quite good, but my chinese is non-existant
Just to give an example of a bootleg part in some of these on ebay. I have seen knock off sanwa buttons for 2 cents each and the knock off sanwa joysticks for 2.58. So yeah… I wouldn’t really trust the parts inside of em.
Comparing it to the JLF
The shafts on the knock off sticks sometimes threaded too deep so the ball top has a bit of a gap and doesn’t lock down tight. This is not on every one of them but enough to note it. The dust washers look the same. The mounting plate looks very similar. The bottom looks completely different.
the knock off sanwa buttons are the same as the original ones, i have both so i can tell that.
The imitated sanwa stick is pretty much like the original sanwa JLW/JLF ,and never had any probs with the balltop for instance. Anyway the last one i post is not a sanwa imitated stick. For sure is not a sanwa, but it’s not a cheap 50yuan (5) or less stick
i have two of these sticks and they are horrible. first one is using fake sanwa stuff and the second is using legit sanwa stuff…the legit stick is stuck to the right…so as soon as you turn on your 360 it will go to the right whenever it can in the dashboard…the fake sanwa stick feels loose and does not really click…looks much cheaper in person…the bottom is made of platic with large suction cup feet. the stick is not mounted on a plate…its mounted directly to the the wood… Everything is mounted to to the top wood panel so when you take it apart the bottom piece comes right off and is completely empty…they are using a official ms pad non common ground…soldering looks good and it uses quick disconnects. im gonna try to unload for cheap when i get some time. i wouldnt waste my time on these.
Yeh I’d like to have a look too. I’m REALLY tempted to buy one of these sticks. They look great in the pictures. Also, if I get the all sanwa parts version, why would it matter there is no mounting plate? If I don’t plan to mod it, it should last a fair while right?
since i unplugged the sanwa imitated from my stick (i will replace it with the sanwa jlw and the imitated will be placed in a custom stick for dreamcast), here some pics:
Hey guys. I ordered 2 sticks from stjjyg as well. It should be coming in some time this week so I’ll try and post up a review and some pictures or something. Regarding retiredjerk’s post about the joystick mounting, does anyone know if mounting a joystick to the panel itself without the mounting plate is a bad thing? If the wood is strong enough then there shouldn’t be any problems, but I was just wondering.
