I just tried it with your combo and it works, the very few times I fucked it up i was doing cold shower too fast.

I’ll give some tips for the extension Tim.

Main Rule: Only press HH so you get two shots from cold shower. The two shot version has more hitstun while the anything more causes them to flip out.

Midscreen
I like to dash forward for the midscreen version for timing and so I can be underneath the character when I pick them up with prop shredder. That allows me to fit in Acid Rain. The timing is:

Hammer > Dash forward + Call Dorm > Wait for short moment > two hit Cold Shower and cancel into Prop immediately

Corner
You need to back dash for spacing, and you have to call Dorm during your backdash so that the whole hitbox of Dark Hole is on screen when Dorm casts it. So think of it like a plink, Dash ~~ Assist. The timing is:

Hammer > Back dash ~~ Call Dorm > two hit Cold Shower > Slight delay > Propshredder.

There’s other timings but these are the most consistent for me. In the corner you can also do air backdash > Hammer after a wall bounce and get an Acid Rain extension after the Dark Hole. I find it inconsistent though because you need to have them bounce high on the wall and you also need to time the assist call correctly. The two methods I mention above are all you need though since the timing is “built-in”.

I’ve tried GomuGomu’s method is quite consistent in the corner .as long as I don’t go for an extra acid rain (acidrain > jump L > skydance > beehive > … ), the simple extention still gets meter neutral 1 million from a stinger+estaka so I’m happy.

Midscreen I wasn’t delaying the shots after the dash. Almost 100% thanks Gomu I love you not only for this combo but you got me back into OP.
And in corner I’m getting very consistent. Thanks so much.

I’m having a lot of difficulty on linking meteors after launcher, is there something I’m missing? Is it a cancel? I’ve been able to do it like 4 times and not pick up on how it cancels or links. Thanks.

You have to super jump cancel launcher into Liberation.

Anyone know any optimal combos with Dorm using Bolts Assist?

Dorm/bolts does damage basically by having a decent bnb end in the corner.

Example: cr.L st.H fH Teleport L ADD j.H, land, j.MHS j.MHS st.MS sj. MMHS, and if it brings them to the corner, call strange and flame carpet a bit after, liberation between the two bolts, and dark matter dark hole Chaotic Flame.

If you land a few steps from the corner, awesome. If you land directly in the corner, enough that the flame carpet would mess up, you have a bit of time to step back and they’ll still be combo’ed.

In the corner, cr.L st.H fH flight j.MHS j.MHS j.MHS, st.MS sj.MMHS, same extension.

If it ends midscreen, you don’t have as many good options.

Also, crossup using bolts to confirm: fH plus bolts, teleport M j.H, j.MMH j.MHS j.MHS st.MS sj.MMHS, and if you’ve got a second assist that can extend, that leads to some excellent damage from a 1/2-to-fullscreen crossup.

What’s the optimized combo starting from dark matter thrown form up close midscreen and fullscreen?

i am using modok dorm, and i want to be able to DHC in the corner from Modok Battering ram into stalking flare, but I’m trying to DHC so that the opponent bounces on the stalking flare and I can charge to spells and then use liberation. Can anyone explain the properties of stalking flare and how to make it juggle for follow ups? hell, if you know how to do this with my team thats even better :stuck_out_tongue:

To juggle enough to give stalking flare time for charges, you want them to hit the top of the flare, so the 20 or so hits (I’m pretty sure it’s 20)go slowly. If they start too low, the flare will hit all at once, similar if they fall really fast from on high into the stalking flare. The longer the flare takes to deliver it’s hits, the longer you have to charge red, blue, then go crazy.

Modok, I think you can go forward up up forward down or forward up forward forward forward, there’s a few that work, and I’ve done them a WHILE ago, but I remember them being inconsistent too, but I found a video of one that uses diagonals, so here.

Maybe I wasn’t always DHCing at the right split-second, I dunno. I hope you have better luck then I did.

Quick piece of combo tech I wasn’t aware of until recently. Tenboss does it, or at least I saw him drop this a few times in matches, and I wondered what he was going for. Credit for the tech goes to him, but this is just another cool extension Dormy has with Bolts, so I made a video for it.

Better off throws, as it does a bunch of damage regardless of scaling.

ok i need some help. i never really took this game serious but i do now. i had a team of logan, nemesis, and wesker but im thinking of adding dorm instead of nemesis. what are the ins and outs i need to know bout him or can u just tell me what page to go to since its alot of information here. if those 2 arent good with dorm, im willing to learn other characters. i actually thought about doom, frank, vergil, spencer, and mag so if they make a better team, let me know

Besides that Frank West, Magneto, Doom, and Vergil have good synergy with Dorm. Spencer is somewhat unique in that his Slant Shot assist can create resets with 3C0D. Look up videos of Angelic to see how you can play Wolverine and Dorm on the same team.

I’m back to running my beloved xxx Dorm Mag shell (typically with wesker or morri). I actually do quite well with disruptor dorm, but still I assume most folk here to it better. As such I was wondering if any dedicated disruptah-Dorm players wanted to share any fun tips on maximizing the cheap.

It seems, at least when I’m playing it, that the key is to be keenly aware when an opponent is gonna be on the ground for a solid second and then go for it. That said, perhaps someone else is conducting the duo with a whole other kind of mindset?

One definite tip, for some matchups, is to establish that you’re NOT gonna teleport. Then once they’re convinced of that, you teleport. However, while that’s a huge part of dr strange strategy, w/ dorm I feel you’re a lot safer and better off just going for it. Its so hard to block from the ground, and relatively safe on block, might as well.

Segue-ing into the last bit, what do you guys tend to do when they DO block the crossup? CL xx carpet block string ain’t bad in a pinch, and box jump jS is situationally good (if they don’t tend to press buttons). Anyone else willing or able to speak on disruptor-Dorm strategy?

I was going to use the Dante dorm Magnus shell but I put it on hold for like 10 other teams like Magnus spencer doom, or Nemo’s team, or Yipes’ Wesker team and like some other lower tier teams but I really do love Dante Dorm and Magnus so I will find a way to play that team well.
Got any dorm Magnus incoming mixups with Dorm Magnus shell?
I usually see flame carpet j.m + disruptor tele m or l/h (never know which it is) but is that right? And got any others for me?

What about with Jam session? I’m sure you can throw a couple at me Gomu!
