Really nice use of the tri jump. It’s def a way different way of using Dorm. I have been trying to get better with using tri jumps in games, so this might be a good thing to practice to force me to do it more. Nice Job.

Yep, that’s exactly it, just keep in mind that you cancel the ground dash later than you would expect to.
It actually works on Ammy 100% of the time but not Zero. I hate zero. Luckily Taskmaster can fight him for me…

The timing is little bit tricky, it does 550,800 damage and it works in every place on the screen where you can use Dark Hole :h:
It’s a free 150K bonus damage compared to the classic dark matter - dark hole - chaotic flame but more important it builds a full meter (so you end up even: 1 built - 1 used) and allow you to connect the level 3 starting form a full screen dark matter.
With level 3 + Purification it does 766,300 damage and, as usual, a chaotic flame can be added for extra damage.
This combo can be an alternative to the dak matter - trijump - ground string which was posted a few days ago.
Sentinel is just so hard to not use, his synergy with Dormammu is just off the charts. Assuming full screen, roughly how much time passes between :f::h: and :a1:? I was actually recently thinking something like this might be possible after playing Tron Bonne recently, but I’ve been spending my time messing with ways to DHC Dormammu in and get 3 Dark Spells before Stalking Flare ends.

I live on Harlem & Irving Park. Its out by O’hare in the Norridge/Harwood Heights area. Dont know many fighting game enthusiasts up here… So I’m an online warrior lol.
How is it out there? My wife and I have to find a place to live for the next year, and it’s hard to look at housing from four states away. I thought Chicago had a pretty big scene; big enough for one of Capcom’s Fight Nights to be held there.
Was it already known that with Tron Flame assist and delayed magic series in the air, Dormammu can re-launch via following the magic series with a dash, Flame Carpet to OTG, Tron assist, dash again (or sometimes just walk up a bit) and launch?
Yeah and I was at that fight night, too. Met Seth that night. I only played 3 games of marvel in a 5 hour time span lol, but it was 10 years of waiting culminating in that “first time” moment lol. It was awesome…
I know there is a scene here, there are good tournaments here, although, i’m more of a casual/exhibition player than a tournament player. Can’t deal with all the spam lol. Although, I’m doing pretty well in this game so i dont’ know… There is a really good arcade here. They got AE a while ago, although I havent’ played it (Damn Marvel!). But yeah it is a hub for a lot of players in the midwest, although I will admit that i’m more of a loner… If you are interested in the community they are definately here though.

Does not seem to work on VJoe(very strict) Ammy(falls too fast) or MODOK (See below), but does on Arthur. Delay the falling j.S, and do the landing cr.M quickly. If they fall below (Dorm’s) head height during the second finger shot, the combo will usually drop. On MODOK, j.L to j.H will not connect on some reason. You can instead do j.L j.M j.H and the rest as normal, though the timing is a bit more strict and less damage (642k). You can also use just one of the above tricks (double fingershot, or fingershot to jump rep) and go straight to launcher, but this only does ~625k and doesn’t quite build the meter you use (double fingershot also still doesn’t work on Ammy as is).
[media=youtube]9USiLmq2H-k"[/media] Dorm bits start at 0:40, end at 3:04, and I apologize for repetitiveness. Main things to point out are that you can build 2 Spell charges mid-combo by using Dark Dimension, and a third (technically the first) using an OTG assist in the corner. Food for thought.
I like the showcasing of building 3 charges during a combo. I think finding creative ways to do this will be key to Dormammu’s future.
Charges are cool and all, but they def dont win matches. I think the real key for Dorm is just zoning in general and learning to fly cancel and triangle jump into combos/resets. I’ve been seeing this in recent tourney matches. Charges are def good to have and can help out, but, you still have to land them and time them correctly. There are a couple really good Dorms, one match is in the Media library and the other was from that UK tourney held recently. Sorry I forgot people’s names.
It sucks that the only air special move Dorm has is Dark Hole and there is no follow up for it. At least he
How can you have seen the UK matches and say Dark Spells aren’t essential for Dormammu? The man won multiple matches just because he had 3D0C.
I think he was saying that matches are still winnable without them and that even when you get them you haven’t won yet you still have to land them.

The main thread has the UK gameplay up - I always add good gameplay to the thread, unless it’s somewhere in a 2 hour stream on jtv.
