Isn’t the moment of fight-or-flight physical terror a strange time to be worrying about how many stabs is enough to neutralize a threat?
Especially since the court document made it sound like the crowd watching didn’t even know he GOT stabbed until after Jorge left, it’s not like he just stabbed him over and over again while he layed on the ground defenseless. And it’s been brought up before that “stabbed” is an undefined term, only 2 were fatal, it’s possible that the rest were shallow nicks and such.

yeah, people who count the stabs are retarded. When I get into a fight, I sure as fuck ain’t thinking “I better end this fight in 12 punches or less!”. I am thinking “I had better punch this guy until I don’t need to punch him anymore”. 12 year old going through puberty and scared out of his mind stabs a guy a few extra times? Every person bitching about the number of stabbings needs to lick that kids balls the same number of times.
The amount of stabs don’t matter as long as they were in self-defense.
The first stab is in self-defense. What gave cause to the other eleven is that the first one didn’t stop Nuno’s assault, giving Jorge cause to continue defending himself aka stabbing Nuno. This means Jorge was defending himself the entire time. Nuno just happened to die in the process from being stabbed.
If you want, we could say Nuno only punched Jorge 11 times, so Jorge should have only stabbed him 11 times meaning the 12th stab was not in self-defense making Jorge a murderer. This way we don’t have to figure out when Jorge was defending himself and when he was “killing” Nuno.
I’ve seen Vega combos that would make this look like some kid gone crazy with a knife…Oh, wait…

Jorge should have stopped and asked himself “What would Vega do?”, and then proceeded to get maybe 5, 6 stabs in before the combo ended, and then get punished for frames, and not being able to tech Juijitsu/Tornado Throws.
He would have died, naturally, but hey - that’s clearly all on the system.
TL;DR?
12 stabs are completely unnecessary in light of wall dives and meter.

Man, I’ve dealt with all caliburs of vega players over most of the games if not all of the games he has appeared in. If that kid had done what vega would’ve done, the bully would’ve lived in a world of terror where his only armor would be underwear soaked in the urine of fear. fear from what, you ask? PTSD. Not Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but Poke That Shit Down. 
He probably wouldn’t even have eaten at the same table with anyone holding a knife again.

The kid should learn to fight back (without using a knife). Nobody needs to be taught how to fight, it’s instinct. He shoulda done something to stick up for himself…Sure, most of us, including myself, generally try to avoid violence. But when someone is hounding you, and you know you’re gonna get pushed around/punched/whatever, you should have some dignity and not act like a meatsack.
The problem isn’t the bullies, the problem is that kids and adults alike are becoming pussies. When the pussy population goes up, the bullies shine brighter than ever.
Why bring a knife to school for self defense when you can use pepper spray? The kid did need to defend himself I just wish he was smarter and used pepper spray over a knife. That bully did deserved to get brutally beaten, but killing him was overboard. They should pay in full for the bullies funeral for that.

Bullies (ie. angry human beings) target pussies. Usually, these are physically weak, socially awkward, generally different, or they possess some physical characteristic or beliefs that pisses the bully off.
Step one to not being bullied is to fit in. Society has taught the pussies of the world that it’s ok to be different and stick out. Well, if you wanna be different, you’re gonna have to deal with the possibility that you’re gonna get your ass kicked.
If you don’t wanna fit in, but you don’t like getting your ass kicked, then you’re gonna have to fight back. Human beings target the weak, just like animals in the wild. Believe it or not, if even a wimpy little kid that may seem like a 9-1 matchup for the bully starts fighting back, then there is a decent chance that they will pick on an easier target after they initially kick his ass really hard for defying him.
If you don’t wanna fit in, and you don’t wanna risk fighting back, then use some damn smarts, and tell someone that can help you (ie. an adult or a bigger friend). Use your brain.
If you’re too scared or too stupid, and you wanna be different, then get used to getting your ass kicked or ridiculed.

I can’t argue too much against that, I don’t know the psychology of a bully that well(I was never bullied nor was I a bully), it still seems to me like a 3 year age gap and a life time of martial arts training probably makes a 9-1 a pretty impossible matchup to achieve. Additionally as also has already been discussed being left alone after they “Initially kick his ass really hard” can lead to death or permanent/long term industry. If someone was given the choice “This guy is going to beat you an arbitrary(up to and including death/permanent injury) amount because he’s a dick, or he can be dead” I would never fault anyone for choosing the second option. IMO once you threaten someone elses safety you’re forfeiting your own right to safety.
