Yes but it’s the intent that matters. Someone who’s only out to immobilize them is not going to hit them dead in the face… cuz that’d be K.O. This actually also applies to the number of times he stabbed the bully. Saying that “the fact that he stabbed him 12 times means he was SCARED OUT OF HIS FUCKING MIND” is the only reason is absolutely closed-minded. It could also insinuate that he really wanted to make sure the guy was dead. Again, we don’t know. We can only assume, but you know what that does.
Which is why he got off the bus several stops before the fight was going to take place, and showed his hand by flashing the knife on the bus. Absolutely perfect sense.
If he really intended without any other possible outcome to use the knife, he wouldn’t have said crap about the knife, and would’ve just got off the bus where the fight was to take place, and when the bully started in, he would’ve just knifed him then.
No, he brandished the knife on the bus as a warning, then got off when the bully seemed unfazed. Unless you’re living in a bizarro world where rape victims really wanted it and saying “No,” to their assailant means “Yes,” then obviously he didn’t want to use it, and gave the bully several outs from the situation before he actually did use it.
Dude tried to duck out of the fight at least twice. I’d say he definitely had no intent to use the knife - he just had it if he needed it.
And, from the facts we are given, he did.
Seriously, way too many betas here.
Of course this situation sucks for all involved. Both families lost a child. One lost his life. The other loses a normal life going foward.
The kid should do some time, because nobody should be unpunished in this situation.
Then again dumbass jurors let casey anthony go free when evidence clearly pointed to her murdering her kid
That’s insinuating that his nerves were cool enough that he could premeditate that far ahead in the heat of the moment.
I really want to know how many people here have been grouped up on like this and could keep a level head. Because I have, and if I had a knife, I would’ve used it, and I honestly don’t know if I would’ve had the countenance to stop myself.
Rather than time, treatment. The dude probably needs therapy and counseling after all this. Being behind bars wouldn’t do any good neither.
Because Casey Anthony was clearly running away from her baby to avoid confrontation and was truely afraid that her baby was going to physically harm her due to the extreme bullying of that baby.
SMFH
Excuse me, 3 year old.
Totally agree. That’s once again, penalizing someone for defending themselves, and sends a message to other people in that situation that you have no out other than to move as far away as you can from the problem.
That’s also the key reason the bullying problem has denigrated this far. The schools have punished the victims and not the bullies. So now the bullies have a Superman complex about what they can do to their victims, thinking they’re really untouchable.
Sometimes people will have enough and go find some Kryptonite.
lol I just made an example of this happening to me earlier on and I reacted cool enough because my morals were so strong. I never had the intent to kill from the getgo. I just used a bat to fend off some peops. In the end, it depends on the individual and whether or not he wants to go for the kill.
This. From my understanding (which is, granted, very limited), when someone shoots somebody in the heat of the moment, they don’t very often just shoot one round at a person - they usually empty the entire clip.
Ya know how people new to arcade games tend to mash buttons constantly, especially in stressful situations? Yeah, like that.
Usually the stress goes away with practice, but I feel pretty sure this kid didn’t have a ton of practice stabbing people just enough to incapacitate them.
I don’t disagree with you, you just picked out one part of my post there and argued against it without context.
I didn’t read anywhere that he brandished it to the bully, I read that he showed it to 2 people. Those people were not mentioned to be the bully, so if it was the bully obviously went in despite knowing the dangers.
The last part of your post is rather extreme hyperbole, I’m not sure how “I can’t make a judgement with this information” translates into people asking to be raped. Maybe I’m weird, but it’s not everyday that everyone walks around with a knife around here, you would be instantly expelled from any education institution or fired from your job for having it on site.
Twelve times is absolutely nothing when it comes to scrapping with a knife.
Go grab yourself a sharpie and do a little bit of pretend fighting with a mate - you’ll easily “cut” or “stab” them twelve times without even fucking noticing. All it takes is one little nick for the media to report something as a “stab”. Kid likely just started thrashing and flailing at the bully, got some fatal hits in without even knowing.
It’s a damn shame we live in a world where 99% of people haven’t ever had to defend themselves with force - perhaps you’d understand what it’s like to inflict grievous wounds someone if you did.
What kind of knife was it? Seriously, people are calling the kid a hero for this tragedy.
Just because the guy trained in jiu jitsu, does not mean it would have been useful in a knife fight.
How did the kid bring a knife to school? Why did the bus driver let him punch a kid in the back of the head. Here we have a 16 year old kid dead because a kid brought a knife to stab him just in case.
The kid may have gone free, but his psyche is damaged for life. Would not be surprised if jorge commits suicide at all. Stabbing a dude 12 times and getting away with it?
Bar fights start like this, and the killer still goes to jail
Haven’t we all watched con air?
Again you’re insinuating you know what actually happened. Yes it takes a million cuts to be fatal, but it only takes so many stabs.
Well, where I’m from too. We got suspended just for carrying Tylenol. At 18 years old, I could carry prescribed antibiotics on me at school, I had to go to the nurse’s station to take said medicine. Antibiotics, because clearly people are getting high off of Doxicycline.
That’s just an aside, but not every school these days have metal detectors or check everyone’s bag and locker daily. My high school STILL doesn’t have them, and I know that for a fact because I went back for my cousin’s graduation this year, and the only changes were that they painted the walls with a mosaic.
I was just trying to find some semblance of an analogy with the rape victims. If you don’t see it, you don’t see it, whatever, I won’t trip about that. I can’t really be arsed to take it back.
And I’m also going off the information that has been discussed that apparently the bully told him he would take that knife from him and knife him instead. So that pretty much relays that the bully either saw the knife, or knew he had the knife.
I actually kind of chuckled about this nugget of truth while picturing a storefront sign that says “Russel’s Knife-Fighting Dojo,” or something along that.
OffTopic: it so isn’t.
A boy gets thrown in jail for stabbing to death a pedophile actively molesting him, yet another boy gets away for stabbing an attacking bully? Interesting…
Well, im glad the state of Florida allows self-defense, but I do think that stabbing someone 12 times is a bit excessive. However, the victim could have blacked out for all I know. I wasn’t there, and the closest thing to a fight for my life I’ll probably ever get is a sanctioned MMA fight, so I won’t judge this kid for his actions.
As far as the bully is concerned, it makes me sick to know that the bully’s father was a BJJ instructor. It seems martial arts and integrity don’t go hand-in-hand anymore (it’s all about the $ nowadays). I have no feelings for someone who uses their knowledge in fighting to attack a smaller, weaker, younger child who has done nothing wrong, WITH THE HELP OF HIS FRIENDS! This pussy would have probably grown up to be just another one of the many scum of this earth. His death is probably a blessing in disguise.
hmm, just curious, can you quote this for me?
Either I’m going off a bad case of hearsay, or this was found legitimately.
