Built in input lag?

^ Needs one last “Please understand” right after the “fuck you”. Lol

Please understand…my Capcom press-release skills are not quite S-tier yet.

So it seems that capcom wasn’t informed on design decisions for their own game. That seems… odd. However now we know it WAS intention, which is kind of dumb since the netplay is improperly implemented and causes major rollback issues which shouldn’t be the case with an addition 3~4F delay.

Are tournament players mad about the 8 frame situation, or do they not care at all?

You just described KI Season 3, as is, right now.
The combo system is unusual, but once you figure how everything works, it’s very dynamic and let’s you embrace any style of play you want
Combo breakers reset to neutral, making the game far more neutral focused than S1 or S2
It is ground based
It has 6 Buttons
It teaches casuals how to play it in a very informative manner
It has combo assist, which provides a very easy, very intuitive way for new players to get a hang of of the system and mechanics, without diminishing high level play in any way
It embraces all kinds of character archtypes from all kinds of games and puts a crazy, super inventive spin on them.
It has amazing netcode.
It has crossplay with PC and X1 with amazing netcode
It’s about to launch Shadow Lords mode which is seemingly going to be something like Injustice 2’s gear system
It will have a separate MP mode to take advantage of Shadow Lords mode items, while leaving ranked, exhibition and competitive play untouched
It has a smart development team that very carefully watches how the game progresses, interacts heavily with it’s player base and actually cares if the players actually enjoy it or not

Like wat else do you need? A Capcom logo modded into the title screen? Damn.

I think it’s more likely they knew all along, gave that "investigating’ line to stall, then forgot they said it when coming out with it being a design decision. =P

Nah, most just say “lol, don’t use 8f lag as an excuse.” Especially ricki.

Though that doesn’t cover the point of “Well it’s not why I lost by any means, I just think the game would be better without it.”

Both are fair points. You should adapt to the lag rather than use it as an excuse for your failures, both you and opponent are dealing with the same situation. However we can also wish for the game to not have it at all. Like if you play on a laggy monitor. You didn’t lose because of the monitor, you lost because you didn’t adapt as easily as your opponent. You can however prefer to not play on laggy monitors.

doesn’t ggxrd rev have really good net code? It has a floating point frame delay for its online, so it will change based on how the connection is. This seems like the best way to keep online smooth, and offline playing like it should.

At this point I’m done with SF5 though. i don’t even really care so much about the netcode as i do about how much of a shamble this game has been since its launch. KoF is looking really good though, and Tekken actually has me hype for its release, and im not much of a tekken fan at all.

Maybe it’s just that they did it on purpose but are looking into it because they somehow didn’t think people would be so mad about it (they are a bit retarded sometimes). Since people are mad about it they try to reverse it and so they are “looking into it”.

Now people are starting to realize how horribly capcom produced the online mode of SF5. They talk about rollbacks but the game have nothing to do with rollbacks at all. This game’s netcode is input lag based. The only things they changed are that when connections gets beyond the 60ms of delay the game becomes unplayable due deshyncs, and they made the offline mode as laggy as their online mode. Its a worsened SF4’s netcode, and its worse because in SF4 you have less input lag than SF5 when the packets’ round trip time is under 80ms. SF5 is a worse game than SF4 because under optimal conditions you can play SF4 with 4f of input lag, and SF5 will never run with less than 8f of input lag.

Something with 8f of input lag cant be seem as a fighting game, its more like a mix of a turn based strategy game and Rock-paper-scissors

Riot is comming, and Im sure they are hungry.

Lol I knew it was intentional…why else would vsynch be on by default when everyone knows it adds input delay. The only “good” thing the extra lag did was provide an even experience between online and offline. Well let’s see if they fix this…

Vsync isn’t a bad thing. Jeez.

Sony should put support for freesync in the next ps4 update . It has and amd gpu so it should be technically possible.

In mitigating up the online-offline disparity, instead of making online better, they made offline ass accomplishing the objective and hoped nobody would notice. Straight grimy. Where is the Quality Control dept? So disappointed in the product/service.

…as well as with the clientele; to watch FGC members not only swallow this but defend it is just so sad.

I must be getting old.
hahaa

Yea but there would need to be freesync tvs. Unless people plan on buying freesync monitors.

Definitely getting old…10 yrs ago the uproar over this whole debacle would be deafening.

… I mean it’s not like we don’t play on hundreds of monitors for tournaments or at local events or anything…

True.

Bad news though. I have a freesync monitor and for whatever reason it doesn’t work with SFV. Been trying to figure out the problem, I think its a driver issue.

The problem is that in the olden days there were multiple versions of a game to where we could look for the best. Now there are corporate interests making decisions for the community which makes arguing about this a non-issue. Capcom gets to decide the version we play now for better or worse.

People wanted eSports, people can suck hard on that lemon.
