Every woman likes to believe she’s some unique delicate little flower when in reality she probably isn’t. The irony is that people who are truly “different” don’t give enough of a fuck to want to prove it to everyone else and thus would never be caught dead wearing a shirt that says “I’m different.”
Warning shots only exist in movies and tv. In real life you will get into trouble, as you are not supposed to shoot at someone to wound or scare them. You use the gun to put the threat to your life down, not to intimidate them or show them it’s loaded. You have no idea where your bullet will go when you fire off to one side or into the ground at an angle. Idiots have trouble with that, thinking what they see on tv is real, like the fools who insist crime scene investigations can do 3d holographic replays of how the event occurred by following infra-red body-heat trails and shit. There was a white guy with an ar-15 who fired a warning shot when someone running from the cops jumped the fence into his yard. Gun taken, he’s getting time: irresponsible use. Guns are the last resort of self defense, and if you have to shoot, your attacker is supposed to die. No leg shots, no made-up shooting shit out of their hand. Center mass shots if possible. You can draw the gun and inform your attacker you’re armed, but that is the ONLY warning the law allows. After that, pop goes the weasel. That’s the law on gun use. Quick question: how many people bitching about this have concealed weapons permits?
She’s pretty much fucked.
1: she has a restraining order against him, but VOLUNTARILY went to where he was staying (you’re supposed to bring an officer as an escort). He didn’t break into HER place. She went to his (violating the order herself).
2: Warning shots don’t exist in real life, and count as irresponsible use of a firearm…and Florida’s hard on gun crime outside of self defense. Basically, she might’ve been all right if she capped him…I say “might’ve” because she shouldn’t have even BEEN there without a police escort to keep shit civil.
Dont forget that Ms Alexander was doing this “warning shot” in front of his kids. Cheh. What if that bullet actually hit him? It is only “similar” because she is a woman of color. Nothing else. People always want to bring up the “past of the husband” beating women but in this incident he didnt lay a hand on her so that past is irrelevant.
I sympathize with women in abusive relationships. It’s a terrible ordeal. But come on, this instance is just awful. I don’t think she should have gotten 20 years, or time at all, but she was being irresponsible with that gun.
So yeah, sure rednecks suck ass, and Nascar is stupid, but that is pretty much everywhere, not just Florida. Suck it up and let me have my
