Buffalo, NY- We drink tears as liquid refreshment

Nunie: Albany just plain sucks, in every category imaginable. Also we all saw Black Dynamite about 6 months ago, read our threads more.

It will be good to see you if you swing by though

GGPO.

Dudes: I have been practicing combos in Blaz Blue and have found that the game is super mega awesomely fun…as a result, I am requesting we bust it out at games on Thursday. I only have a copy for ek bok, so hopefully someone has it for ps3?

There’s lots floating around, but honestly I wouldn’t want to play calamity trigger at this point, too much is different.

the new BB was kick ass. i liked it way more than the other. im very anxious about getting ff13 tomo… i prolly wont sleep haha.

does anyone know if super is having a midnight release and if so what gamestop will it be at. i dont know about the rest of your guys but im taking off on the 27th from work so if anyone else is with me and there is a midnight release lets hit it up

maybe, maybe night, itll prolly be annoucned a week before the street date most likely lol

would really like to get some games in online if we can get a decent connection, in munnsville again and fending for some sf4.

if you wanna play msg me ill prolly be on all day after 4

Kyle did that stick art work ok for you? Posted it back a few pages, let me know if we’ve found a winner.

i think i like the new ff13. i got a copy today.

also tony, calamity trigger blows. the only thing good for that is to practice up combos that are the same or similar to the ones in the new one.

kyle id play. but im having trouble peeling myself away from this ff13 rofl. besides im sure u guys are like 1000x better than me now. id be no use to practice against.

so the hakan trailer is out… wow… anybody interested in goin to the east coast throw down besides me an tony?

another thing: B, are you puttin in a good word? dem mugs still ain’t call me yet! lol

yeah i liked the darker green one, just change berserkotaku to kyo45

LOL Hakan is tooooo funny. What does he yell when he launches them during his one ultra? The on they repeated over and over. It sounds like “Here i come!” which is just too funny.

when is east coast throwdown and do i have to drive?

Hakan looks fucking stupid. Reminds me of another Fuerte as a joke character…boo.

East Coast Throwdown is in Jersey at the end of May…May 22nd maybe? I am on the fence about going because my parents are going on a cruise the week before and not getting back til May 21st, and my brother is still in school at that point so I dunno if I can pull him out for a weekend to travel. We’ll see as it gets a bit closer, I guess.

In other news: I am now registered for EVO SSF4 and HDR, and for GAMME I am up for SF4 standard, Tougeki, Teams, and Smash Melee. Ballin!

Also…Jug vs. my brother is up on youtube from Cuse…just type in Jeff P vs Jug in youtube and it’ll pop up. He was pretty embarassed by his play in grand finals though, so go easy on him. Jug…teach him the matchup.

Tony G, when are you gonna be back?

Also, are we gonna do anything this week? I think I’m goin to the Wild Wings on Elmwood with a few friends for the sabres game tomorrow…I should be free Friday and Sunday outside of game nights

so I figured out how the izuna drop works for vega, and why it rapes sagat so hard lol. (jeff read this)

1.) izuna drop grabs STANDING (and sometimes CROUCHING) characters
2.) like Gouken’s/Akuma’s Demon flip throw, it’s only possible to grab them from the HEAD/UPPER BODY, other wise it’ll work
if your close to them when your air to air
3.) you can only grab a character so low to the ground… after a certain point you either can only get the claw attack, or can’t do anything when close to landing
4.) FA’ing while Vega is coming at you is a good way to avoid it since with SOME CHARACTERS sprites hit box moves/shifts downward or in a whole other direction
once it’s initiated. If Vega goes for a izuna drop and you suddenly shift your hit box in another direction while he’s coming down, he can’t grab u.
5.) EX wall dive gives Vega more range on his Izuna drop, so the chances of him grabbing you are increased after a wall dive
6.) the bigger the character, the harder it is to avoid izuna drop. Sagat (in my experience) is the biggest loser to izuna drop because he is so tall (head is higher up for grabs) and
his focus attack doesn’t move his sprite. He’s also slow as molasses lol. today online, I play’d 3 different sagats, and I caught them in a continuous inzuna drop loop; get one, wall dive again and do it again as they get up. they tried EVERYTHING (things like tiger uppercut lol) to get out of the loop, but they did, only when I messed up the timing of the izuna drop.
7.) 90% of all the vega players I play’d probably don’t know this, or how to even execute izuna drop effectively, because there were only 2 instances where I seen the this
izuna drop loop executed on me lol. and I never seen a vega do it in a match vid

… the match up against sagat should be put a notch in vega’s favor against sagat, just based off this info.

what do you guys think? vega just got a little more dangerous lol

So by what you’re saying, could it be considered an infinite loop? And it’s unscalable. There’s no way it can be a loop, that would just be too overpowered.

to my knowledge claw has no loop at all. u can dp that all day. if he doesnt fake wall dive at all. Jeff P has the reactions i believe to pull it off. if not predict it.

Edit. hell try kara TU as well. try shit out and see what works.

ive read up on this before and it is a loop of sorts, if timed correctly it is very hard for certain chars to get out of, like sagat for example. that being said, there are ways around it, but seeing as vega is not a very popular choice when it comes to maining a char i can see why it would surprise a lot of sagat players when encountered by this “loop”. some match ups just suck and i honestly think this one is kinda in vega’s favor. so all you can do jeff is play your char better then jug(or any other vega player) plays his. play smarth and be patient. learn the match up and know that all they have to do is make one mistake for you to either turn the tides or win.

i use to think the vega match up was really hard for abel but after some research and practice its actually not that bad. still lose to vegas from time to time but i feel i have a better grasp on the match up because i found out things that work and stuck to them(jumping hp)

also dont know if anyone else caught this, but yesterday mr wizard posted a list of changes for the finished version of super on the home page, then they took that shit off fast ass hell but not before i could save that shit in a word doc so anyone who wants it i will email them
