Brushstr0kes 101: The Amaterasu Thread Mach II

Nice gilley. I was wondering if it were possible to get a second rep off with the sword qcf+L, but it requires the mist super. Didn’t even think to try that haha.

This is just the beginning. I am sure there will be more advanced applications of the slowdown super. We need to start testing things in slowdown. For example, normally ammy cant do j.m > air qcf+h, but with slowdown active she can. We need to find ways to combo into slowdown and then continue to combo after it. I would prefer this to be done without using assists, but I think assist might be the only way to combo after it.

ammys slow down super is REALLY good. ive been thinking about just mostly using slowdown. the prob is that i dont know of any combos that do 500k damage with her without okami shuffle or lvl 3.

getting some bnbs that do plus 500k without super is very important for every character imho, we need some with ammy.

best high damage bnb that i have ATM is extremely scrubby but whatever:

LMH, F+HHHH, S, sj.L,sj.M,sj.hx3 xx okami shuffle 506k damage. but metered and scrubby… i need better stuff…

also ammy DOESNT seem to get ANY SPEED BOOST DURING X-FACTOR. although the above combo does 956k damage and is ALOT easier to hit for some reason. maybe her hitstun scaling is less when x-factored?

more scrubby damage numbers with x-factor:

LMH, F+HHHH, kfc lvl 3, LMH, F+HHH

does 865k damage with okami shuffle 1.179 k with lvl 3 super.

with lvl 1 x-factor the combos do 721k and 993 k respectively.

these are probably her easiest high damage combos, so i guess thats worth notating.

How exactly does the slow down super work? Does it increase hit stun and allows for more combos? How long does it last?

I see you Gilley! I see you!

How exactly? What makes that a good assist? What help does it provide?

Edit: I’m sorry i forgot what question i asked. but could you elaborate?

^probably for keepaway, cuz her keepaway is pretty sick. Also if you can do it up close it will probably lock them down for a while. And probably extending combos too.

Just want to let you guys know, you can elements super after any throw, reflector counter, and if you connect with her cold star attack anywhere but not full screen (a little closer). I was telling some friends that play Ammy, and I was watching a stream right now and the dude wasn’t doing it.

For comboing into slow down you can prolly do something like, fffff (sent drones about to hit) xx slow down, ffff xx paper ffff,s,mm,ff,s

Im curious, would the mist super make her trails easier to perform?

Forgive my scrubby combo notation but here’s what I tested on Sentinel and Morrigan. [list]

(reflector) j.S, s.MH, c.H, jf+MHHH, s.MH, c.H, f+H, S, j.MHH, air qcf.H, f+HH, S, okami shuffle (no KFC: 550K+, kfc2: close to 1 million kfc3: instant kill or close to it)

(glaive/sword) j.LMM, s.MH, c.H, qcf.L, s.LMS, air LLMMS, air df+H, air qcf+S, okami shuffle (no kfc: 527,800, kfc2: 1,030,300, kfc3: 1,085,500)

Someone think up something with rosary bead stance from meterless so we can really break this goddess!

Here’s something cool I found. If you have the sword equipped, and your opponent is in the corner, you can do okami shuffle super > df+rh > qcf+s > okami shuffle super.

Just hold df and mash hhhhhhh after the first super.

EDIT:
(reflector) s.l > s.m > s.h > (sword) c.l > c.m > c.h > qcf+l > s.l > s.m > s.h > qcf+l > okami shuffle > df+h > qcf+s > okami shuffle does 710,100d to sentinel.

Update OP with combos I’m not looking through 23 pages just to find out her bnb’s.

nice find!

combo thread is needed

Without X-Factor, Assists, or LV3 are the tougher Switch-To-Glaive-From-Reflector combos really worth the damage?

I’ve just been scrubbing it up with REF :m:,:h:,:f::h::h::h::h::h:,:s: into :m:,:m:,:h:,:h:,:qcf::atk::atk: and not only is it easy-as-fuck & reliable but I’m having a hard time finding other combos that are much more rewarding in damage. Even used the Mission 10 combo as a reference and I still couldn’t find anything much better, only harder.

I’ll backtrack the thread a bit more. Haven’t gotten around to doing Sent-only combos either. It’s also hard to gauge the damage of Ammy’s combos that end with Shuffle because the damage changes around so much.

Is this sent/large characters only, or does it work on smaller characters?

And what are her best BnB combos, meterless and with meter?

It’s not worth the damage based on what we know so far. It certainly isn’t worth the risk of whiffing the switch and getting bodied as a result. The Mission 10 combo only deals 554k damage considering its difficulty and considering how there are both easier and more damaging combos, that combo isn’t really worth doing.

Any character will do

also, I just got the MvC3 strat guide, here’s a crazy combo from it…

s.m > s.h > qcb+l > s.m > s.h > qcb+l > s.m > s.h > f+hhhhh > d,d+m > s > super jump early air s > df+h > d+s (TAC wiff, flames hit) x3 additional times > qcb+aa > vertical jump early air h(hold) > land > vertical jump early air h(hold) > land > vertical jump early air h(hold > land vertical jump early air h(hold) > land > qcf+aa 726,100dmg

I think what they’re doing here is her air df+h then doing a quick exchange that wiffs. I’ve seen this before and it looks like she teleports. I guess I will have to test this later.

also, switch to glaive mid combo is completely worth it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

After playing the game, I have to say no character has ever worked as well with me as Ammy. lol

I think the sword normals chip. I did a non-charged (I believe) H and I killed the opponent who blocked it with chip damage. Not sure if this is known or not.
