Mighty Punish into B Charge Tatsu is pretty sick
Thereās not much synergy between them as far as I know. Tatsu works more like a get off me at the start of the round for Thor. It pushes people away from him which isnāt that beneficial to a Thor thatās trying to move in, but since it nullifies projectiles and has high priority, it can be used to fight against pressure in the neutral, and keep your block strings safe while applying pressure of your own.
DHC wise, any grounded Tornado can go into the beam super. And Mighty Punish into that Shoryuken super works.
Basically, if you want to run Thor with Akuma, you should probably have a more beneficial assist for Thor somewhere, there, too.
Sigh, Thatās what I figured. Unfortunately I was hoping to put him in the middle with Akuma anchor (Wolv Point)
Not convinced I wanna play Thor/Strange/Ammyā¦ Seems like a solid enough team, just not a fan of Strange, though Bolts seems gdlk for Thor.
I donāt seen an issue with switching Doom assists, most likely between beam and missiles, as I donāt see how to get missiles on screen with certain assists, Mag, Hawk, etc.
Speaking of missiles, is the best way to get it on screen just gonna be covering with Mighty Spark then moving in? What about the use of Mighty Strike?
Yeah, you canāand shouldāuse your TK Mighty Strike Lās to cover it, too if youāre at mid range. Obviously calling it point blank will get you and the call stuffed on start up, but with the proper spacing, youāre golden.
You might be able to get away with some air Mighty Strike Mās, too, but make sure your spacing is on point. A lot of the time, against certain characters, if you jump in the air and call the assist, thereās nothing left to protect Doom when he comes out, so any quick start up horizontal something will catch him.
Thatās kind of what I assumed with the Mighty Strikes, was also thinking tk Mighty Strike L. Thanks for the advice.
Is there any tech as to how and get a tac from Thor to Doom into the infinite, or is it easier to try Dorms tac options?
So having played around with Thor/Dorm/Felicia Iām now toying with the idea of putting Dante at the back with jam sessionā¦ I think it will be a long while before I feel competent with anchor Dante though.
Anchor Dante is more of a challenge to learn, but once you get his X-factor combos down, learn to use Devil Trigger right, youāll be alright. Both Thor and Dorm get benefits from Jam Session and Weasel Shot. Plus if you happen to get a ground grab with Thor, thatās a free unscaled combo once you raw tag Dante in.
Dormās got TAC options. His infinite is sorta difficult, though. If you want to TAC from Thor into Doom directly skipping Dorm, itās simply a matter of doing the TAC while Dorm is still in cool down, and the quickest way that happens by using him as an assist in whatever combo you start off with Thor.
what do Thor get from Jam session outside of the corner? theorising too much?
The problem is not changing doom assist to plasma, the problem is that bolts is sooo much better for thor than plasma in the matchups that missiles lose
He gets a fast acting, lock down assist? Not much theorizing to it. He can use it to keep his block strings safe, cut off a portion of the screen so he can travel through it. Donāt really see what thereās not to see with it.
Except that one of the weaknesses that missiles has is its long start up and long duration for Doom to stay out. And characters that can exploit that weakness by always staying in Thorās face, not giving him the opportunity to call it can do that with Bolts, too. Plasma is a faster starting, faster leaving assist that can keep Thorās rush down safer in the mid the close range, while also, with it being a beam, giving him the option to throw stuff out from a distance with Spark Lās. Once again, all of these beams have different properties to them, which lend themselves to certain situations better than others. When choosing a beam, itās up to the player to choose which situations he wants to put the opponent in.
Just got my HDPVR and am looking to go to my first non local tourney. Iām running Thor Frank Ammy and would love any help with this team (my Ammy is worse than any players ever). MT does not have the biggest marvel scene so I will post a lot of online play. You all have really helped me up my Thor play with your feedback\videos so thank you. Here is my first upload after that Ill post multiple matches once a week in the video thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgxVLh5peIA (Sorry no idea how to do the video in forum thingy!)
I seen some cool Thor/Frank tech a while back, with the slow fall of Thors super, dhc to Frank sj. S for hard knockdown, picture, call Thor and use the Mighty Smash assist, ground bounce, picture. Might be worth looking into if you are willing to switch Thor assist.
Everytime i read someone boast about Jam session or Cold star i immediately think less of the player. Those are some of the hardest assist to call during neutral. Great for incoming but other than that not to great
So going by that, youāre telling me Ray Ray thinks less if you and the team you go on and on about? Cāmon Serp. Truth be told, bolts is a lot harder to call in neutral for Thor than either of those assists, but it can still be done, and it still does what it needs to do when you need to do it.

Thanks I saw that awhile ago. Sparks seems to help both ammy and frank in the neutral more, I will post some Thor Frank lvl up tech that I have been using that gets level 4 and 700-900 k damage in the near future
Though rarely mentioned besides Animated_fanās team, I think Thor and Taskmaster (with horizontal or vertical arrows assist) is a very solid duo. Taskās vertical arrow assist is really slept on, and Thor having decent tri dash can do a couple of ambiguous hi-lows, and blockstun recovery MHās off it. Some may see it as ghetto rocks, and we all know strangeās bolts are the best for Thor (but you have to play strange), but it really helps an air based Thor with protection and moving across the screen. Plus very few are used to the assist and people get thrown by how quick it comes out. Just something for you all to consider. Overall great synergy for Odinās son.
I have decided to give up on Ammy and was wondering what you all think of Dante (crystal) Thor (?) Doom (Beam) I was thinking crystal since it OTGās and would allow for easy Dante-Thor TAC TODās
Would a Trish/Thor/Doom team work?
Would a Trish/Thor/Doom team work?
Yes, thatās my 2nd Thor team though I run Thor first.
