Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Yes totally new wiring. The ribbon cable from the led panel is safe in the box, soldered new wires to the back of the points. USB pro port still soldered with the stock pcb safe in the box along with the pro cable. So basically everything is my own.

Notice that there is a wire going from the led panel to the TPkey point but this is USFIV stick for xbox 360 which doesnt have anything on top panel other than guide button. I solder a push button switch on the panel (there were 3 empty slots for it, maybe future planning from madcatz?) so I have TPkey on top as well.

Are you saying V 1.4 that was released earlier is no good?

just got mine in the mail today, the ONLY issue i have is no update support for linux, (bit of an inconvenience going to a buddy’s house to do an update) other than that, im very pleased with it

:edit: i guess i could try and see if the executable runs under wine before i say anything else

@SunTzu81
We removed patch files for All converters on Official website.

The UFB is no problem.
Today we released patch file for UFB on Apple Mac.

So sorry for the newb question. I am experiencing the 8 minute timeouts as well. I have never updated my ufb before. What do I need to do? What buttons do I press on my stick to initiate the update once I plug it into my PC? Any help is appreciated.

All the manuals and firmware update stuff are on that page.

Maybe you are right, I’ve been playing MAME and other emulator for old arcade games basically since they were released back in the 1998 so I’m a dinosaur, that was the standard back then so I thought a lot of people like me would like to get that layout.

@enb141 Welcome to TechTalk!! Just a heads up, don’t bother expressing your ideas or opinions on here or else the ā€œknow it allā€ resident lurkers, who don’t have anything better to do in their day to day real lifes, will bash and argue with you till the end. It’s a bit funny and sad in a way.

Anyone else having trouble with the 1.4 update. I press the select and home button, it says the update is unsuccessful every time

make sure your anti-virus is off during the firmware update

Does windows defender count?

Update on BSOD issue:

So I updated the Intel Management Engine Interface, and Chipset drivers. Got the UFB to stop BSODing when plugged into a eSATA/USB combo port (combo port was causing a BSOD as well as the 3.0 ones). UFB would be picked up as Unidentified USB device. I made progress so I was happy. Updated to 1.4, still the same unidentified issue. Cool, so let me try forced 360 mode…

Tried forced 360 mode by holding down P3 aaannnddd BSOD again (still combo port). I get sad again, but i restart and try one more time. This time, it freezes my system; have to do a forced shut down. After another restart, back to square one.

Same iusb3hub.sys error

I guess I should just stop before I damage my system. This is starting to feel like a waste of $90 (+shipping) :expressionless:

I got mine the other day and all is well. Well except for one minor thing that is kinda annoying. Whenever I connect it to my PC or my girlfriend’s PC, it initially connects as a PS4 controller, then quickly disconnects and then reconnects as an Xbone controller but doesn’t disconnect again. I know I can force it into whatever mode but was wondering if I could stop the disconnect reconnect thing. We’re both running Windows 10.

@chipface
My suggestion is running the forced mode when you plugged it on PC.

Alright I’ll go with forced modes then. Thanks.

Lol how are you gonna agree with me on one thread and clown me on another?

This guy is asking for a firmware just for him. Personally, I wouldn’t do it but it’s not my board. If he wants to email zippy himself and get it then more power to him. I am suggesting to just roll with the punches and play with the hand he’s dealt. He’s complaining about a problem that’s just for him. I don’t troll the people I post when I argue, I try to explain that whatever issue they are having is easier than they are making it seem and to think outside the box. Look at what I did for @PlasmaWaffle in another thread. You all might think I trolled him or gave him a hard time but I still ended up fixing his problem. He messaged me to tell me how much he appreciated the help. Maybe this guy is stubborn or maybe he is just not seeing the ease in which his problem is a non issue. I would never ask a software/hardware maker to do something special just for me when the answer is right in front of my face.

Btw @enb141 if you’re older than 33, then you are indeed a dinosaur. If not, you have no excuse because this dinosaur gets it, lol. You don’t have to press ā€œbutton 1ā€ that is determined by the hardware, you press what you want ā€œbutton 1ā€ to be. If you want your layout to be custom to you, press your buttons to your hearts content. If you want them to be standard, then press them according to the standard layout as the buttons are on the stick in front of you.

You got a game in particular you’re having trouble with? Message me and I’ll set it up for you. I’ll send you the config you’ll be set for life.

Plug it into a 2.0 port, not a combo.

The issue is your hardware not the board. Other users have had luck. I’ll see if my gfs laptop has the issue and post what I did to fix. The fix might not work for you as I’ve seen lots of fixes by different people in numerous threads. Search ā€œiusb3hub.sysā€ and see what others have done.

Okay I’m confused. Is the newest firmware update for the Brook greenlit ready to go (Particularly fixing the PS4 3.5 patch 8min time-out)?

Yes

Awesome
