GOGO.Zippy, those are good news, so I’m wondering why with every new version of PS4 the PCB gets broken to 8 minutes?
There’s a way to figure out a way to prevent that from happening in future versions?
I got a suggestion for PC, well on PC there’s Xinput and Direct Input, so with PSX3/4 modes the 1P, 2P, 1K and 2K are Buttons number (1P = 3, 2P = 4, 1K = 1, 2K =2) so I was thinking about a Direct Input version in where 1P = Button 1, 2P = Button 2, 1K = Button 5, 2 K = Button 6 and so on.
Is it possible to upgrade the firmware with a mac? I tried running the .exe through wine and it opened fine, but it never recognized the pcb. SFV doesn’t recognize my stick when I try and enter into legacy mode either. I can still hit the PS button when it’s plugged in and it will work fine (other than the timeout issue). Any ideas?
I’ll try and update with a PC later today, hopefully that will work
This is one of the very few reasons I don’t like being a Mac guy. Smaller outfits don’t create tools for them. Up until a few months ago I never played games on computers always consoles (still predominately console) so I had to use my Windows machine that I treated like the bubble boy when it came to software to update my sticks. I had cold sweats putting some some MCU development stuff on it
Worst case, you could boot camp it with a free copy of Windows 10.
I updated it on a Mac with VMWare this morning. Worked fine and no need to reboot (big plus over boot camp). Would be nice to get native Mac support though!
Its much what Jasen said, smaller outfits don’t have the resources to cater for two different Operating systems.
Even larger corporations often skip Mac support so they can focus on whats more wildly used, Windows.
You have to make two different sets of codes to do the exact same job as you have to compile your programs differently for each OS.
Especially since Brooks have multiple devices to support.
Yep. But since there is a row for “Mac” download on Brook’s website, it’s not far fetched to think they’d eventually integrate both platforms.
Still, big ups to them for coming up with a new FW that fast!
Currently there’s no Direct Input mode in that convination, I’m not talking about changing the already PS3 and PS4 maps, those ones should stay intact, I’m just asking for a new forced mode for PC for MAME and legacy games.
Is there any way to update the Firmware without the Share/Select buttons? Any way around it? Instead of Share, I wired the PS Home button because I dont have enough… Kind of a crappy situation.
I have a really odd question that I couldn’t for the life of me find an answer for.
The page for the board mentions that if you use the TPKey spot on the board (that has to be soldered) that it will work as touchpad/select/back/menu(the hamburger), but the share key lists as share/select/back/options(the 2 windows). I’m assuming this is a mistake and the TPKey is supposed to be touchpad/select/back/options(the 2 windows) as it emulates the buttons “properly” with the Xbox One layout. I’m going to be wiring it to use the latter since I have more need of the touchpad key than share, but want to make sure that’s how it works.
In games with Direct Input the screen says, press 1 or press 2 but with current layouts is hard to think about it, it always takes some milliseconds if you with but it takes times but in the opposite if the layout were in order then it would be easier.
You’re literally the only person I have ever heard ask for this, so that’s why I am saying it is excessive for them to make a special programming just for you when you can just make a piece of paper with your button layout.
That’s like asking Capcom to make a mode where the kicks are on top because that’s the way you like it.
Btw it’s:
4651
3872
You misplaced a kick with a punch.
And like I said, make a universal config and do it once and you’re done.
Sorry for not providing the latest firmware by original schedule.
For some technical problems, we still need to check to make sure everything works perfect, and we will make it as soon as possible.
Thanks for your understanding.
