Sample Photo, not really the Brook UFB, just posting it for reference:
Has anyone else noticed that the X/Y box cross-hair and the Z bars twitch/shake very slightly when you connect your UFB on PC?
I’m running Win 7 32-bit with the UFB in forced PS3 mode.
During my use, even when I switch to Left stick on my fightstick, move the joystick around, and then I stop moving the joystick, the cross-hair still twitches.
Just something I spotted while testing the PCB on PC, though it doesn’t seem to effect gameplay on PC, PS3, PS4, or XBox360 in my experience.
Will the Brook Universal Fighting Board receive Wii U support? I ask this because of the two new Brook converters (Xbox360/XboxOne to Wii U and PS3/PS4 to Wii U).
I’m looking at buying the brooke universal fighting board from paradise arcade shop but i had 2 questions before i can really buy it.
if anyone can help that would be awesome.
can i connect the silent hori hayabusa lever? it’s 6 pins unlike the common 5 pins most levers have. I noticed this when i tried putting it in my other stick once.
in the store theres a drop menu named soldered headers. link. Common sense says this just means the parts that normally come with arent actually soldered on and the store will do that for you. I just assumed this board was already soldered together though. can someone clarify this?
You probably can connect the optical Hayabusa in there, 5 of the pins should be the same and then the remaining one can connect to VCC to supply power to it. The drop down menu is just additional soldered headers on the PCB, since the PCB normally doesn’t come with the headered options provided soldered already. If you select none, then it’ll only come with the screw terminal and USB-B Jack, no 20 pin soldered or headers for player LEDs, etc. The soldered header optionsgives you the option to solder them without doing them yourself, otherwise you’ll have to buy them elsewhere and manually solder them yourself.
If it’s anything like the GamerFinger optical pcb it should work. I was told by FocusAttack the the GF Optical pcb will work with the UFB. Just ordered both last week.
Yes, use the standard 5P connector and then connect the 6th wire (VCC) to the VCC screw terminal on the BROOK UFB. There really isn’t much magic to the hook up of these optical boards and both the PS360+ and the UFB provide that VCC point for this very reason.
I think I’ll end up buying a brook UFB, but going to wait for news on the new Omni. Can anyone a recommend good direct/xinput board for PC, I will probably end up using that in the interim.
I’m not sure, but if you didn’t want to cut the trace or solder on a switch or do anything drastic like that, you could always just put a piece of electrical tape over it.
ill definitely be getting the UFB now! but as much as i love more optical options the JLF isnt a lever i use anymore. Hayabusas and Seimitsu LS-56 are my current favourites. Unfortunately the optical hayabusas arent sold seperately and there isnt a upgrade option for the LS-56 that i know of.
Anyone know if the new (PS4/PC) Omnis are using a Brooks or do they use their own proprietary controller? Just thinking of going with that to save myself some headaches.
EDIT: Oh I guess it can’t be the UFB because it doesn’t support Xbox. However according to their twitter it is a Brooks board, I sent them a question regarding specifics or to clear up if it was the old PS3/PS4 green fighting board.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gamerfinger optical boards fit the Hayabusa since that stick works with most JLF accessories. It involved a little bit of dremeling but I got Spark CEs in both my 'busas (along with a Link, circle gate, and a stronger spring) and it is wonderful.
