Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Your wires are backwards

A little offtopic, but anyone else excited for this
PRE-INSTALLED BROOK PS3/PS4 FIGHT BOARD PCB KIT [PRE-ORDER]

that kit is a piece of shit, and it’s in the wrong thread

take a chill pill bro. besides, the kit isn’t even released why you fronting

the concept of a kit with a harness built into it that doesn’t even support all of the functions is retarded, plus the wires look short as fuck. Either learn how to solder to get the most out of your board or get the PAS breakout kit that lets you do everything, AND has an optional harness that isn’t 6 inches long.

Will it works for 360BC games on XBOXONE?
I heard Hori Kai and Madcatz TE2 are not work on BC games.

I can second that with windows 10 x64. if you are quick, it first shows up as P4 (wired controller) then goes away and comes back as xbox one controller.

Could be a loose USB connector or bad USB cable.

@Rasselas
Brook UFB can work for 360BC games on XBOXOne.

No, mine does it too. Just something quirky with the way the brook handles autodetect on PC.

Well, if it counts as an Xbone controller and you can use an Xbone controller on the BC games that sort of goes without saying. It would be weird if it didn’t.

I’m planning on putting together a new box after all these years (just getting back into the scene) and considering the Brooks UFB or the PS360+. Sorry if I missed it in the thread but wondering if there are any input lag data from testing the board. From doing a bit of searching it seems the PS360+ was/is the best choice in terms of performance when compared to other boards/consumer sticks, but didn’t find anything on the Brooks so wondering if this is any better or on par with the PS360+.

Also it was a bit unclear to me whether not the whole ā€œ8 minuteā€ issue was fixed with newer PS360+ firmware, or is it a permanent hardware issue? Is the extra $30+ dollars for this justified over a PS360+?

Theres no data on lag for this board, but Brooks ps4 fightboard was tested, this should perform about the same. Ps360 stil has the 8 min timeout. Its a hardware issue. UFB and ps4 fightboard dont have the timeout.

Thanks, I guess that may write off the PS360+ for me if I decide to a ps4, but I’ve sure yet. The site I found the lag info was here: http://www.teyah.net/sticklag/results.html

Is the brooks board you’re referring to the same as the PS3/PS4 one listed there or is it a different one? Any idea if the UFB is based around that same circuity or is it improved? That didn’t seem all that impressive when compared to the other options available. I normally wouldn’t be so fussy but this stick is probably also going to be used in another arcade project of mine and I play a lot of shmups so the least possible delay with the greatest compatibility is preferred.

I was still hoping to build this project myself around a DIY board, but now I’m also looking at the Omni PS4/Sanwa edition too.

Yes its the ps3/ps4 one. From what ive read the chip and firmware are the same but Zippy can probably provide more info.

I saw Focus Attack has the upcoming Brook Wii super converter dongle expected soon. Does this mean the UFB will get a firmware upgrade to include Wii and Wii U support? Hope so…

Teyah’s results are mostly garbage with no real science behind them. Take them with a lot of salt.

The PS3/PS4 Board and the Brook UFB use the same processor from what I can tell on the boards. One won’t perform better than the other. Worry less about the lag (everyone who uses them loves them) and focus on what matters… what makes sense for you:

  • PS3/PS4 Only
  • XBOX Support (360/ONE)
  • Ease of installation
  • Handiness with Soldering
  • Willingness to buy a solder free solution (PAS BreakOut for PS3/PS4)
  • What stick you are going to install it in (Does an EZ MOD Kit exist or is one planned?)

Only you can decide how important each of the above is…

That would be nice. Would save me having to buy the converter.

Hello all!

Just set up my UFB. Whenever I plug it, my laptop blue screens. My laptop has never, ever blue screened before. I was using the PS360+ before without any issue. The USB cables I’m using are AmazonBasics, one of which is lighted at the ends (this one runs from the UFB to the Neutrik). I don’t know if the cables might be causing any issues, but it more or less has to be a firmware issue. I have a few Hori’s that I have used without any issues. Am I missing something here? Don’t think my wiring is incorrect. I’ve gotten a BSoD multiple times now, and it happens as soon as the firmware update finishes. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does the Brook UFB work with the raspberry pi (retropi)?
