Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

I’m modding a 360 Fightstick (Non TE) with the Brooks Board. I have just about everything working. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get a replacement Home Button PCB (Image: http://imgur.com/Wk64H0j ). Same PSB as @EternalNoob .

Also I tested it on my 360 and it works perfectly. But when I plug it into my PC, it recognizes it initially as a game controller (Xbox One for Windows) then immediately disappears. Any idea what could be causing this ??

My suggestion is forced 360 mode on PC.
(1) force 360 mode on PC ~ >> Press ( 3P = 360 mode ) button then plug into your PC
(2) Or please install XBOX One controller PC Driver

Awesome. Thanks @GOGO.Zippy , Forcing it into 360 mode did the trick!

Now just need to find a replacement PCB for the home button module.

I tried this, makes no difference. Still get bluescreen.

Tried both USB2 and 3 Ports, same outcome. I also just formatted my whole machine and reinstalled everything. Soon as I plug the UFB in, I get a BSOD.

Alright fantastic news. I managed to desolder all of the connections on the older PCB and ended up removing the LCD PCB all together as I never used it. Soldered on the USB connection and re-wired everything. Currently upgrading the firmware to the latest version. Many thanks to @Vicko and everyone else that offered help. Here is an image of the internals.

Now I have a few questions before I wrap this up:

-For the secondary LED lights I have here, where do I connect them on the PCB?

-To enable the touchpad functionality, must I wire a cable to the Touchpad pin to the Select Button?

Thanks again!

OK I got mine working after a format, turns out I had to remove the USB3 drivers. Once I did that the unit was detected as a ‘controller’ and when using 3P and forcing to 360 mode everything now works…

@ZeroX03 Nice, where did you get those sleeves to wrap around the cables??

@ZeroX03
Look this pic to connect LEDs on UFB.

It’s what the stick came with when B15 designed it.

Do I connect it to the PLAYER LED…?

@ZeroX03
Player LEDs defined player sequence …

Nice find, if you don’t mind can you de
tail what drivers you removed? I tried toying with the USB drivers and it totally disabled all of my ports.

Does removing the USB3 drivers disable your USB3.0 ports?

Edit: Did some research but have not tested yet.

Another option is to disable xHCI in UEFI or bios. I found a similar setting in my bios and will disable and see if that fixes it.

DISABLE xHCI

This is another older article that confirms that the intel 3.0 drivers are pretty unstable, and confirms ignat’s solution for removing the USB 3.0 drivers from your PC.

@GOGO.Zippy It sure would be nice to have some SOCD options. I prefer Left + Right = last input
Also could there ever be a headphone module? I really miss using headphones on Xbox Live.

Finally finished and got everything working !! Tested it on PC,360 and Xbox One and its working flawlessly. Thanks for all the help in the thread folks!

Connect it to the V on J6-1. From my knowledge the VCC on the BROOK is only +3V (Meaning your Player LEDs will dimly light up), USBVCC is +5V.

VCC is +5V. There is a +3.3V on the PLAYER LED tap.

so is the VCC screw terminal next to DOWN +5v? maybe that explains why my madcatz logo LED is so bright.

Me too - if there were a separate firmware for this I’d be so happy :pray:

Yup. Touch that point with the VCC on the USB using your multimeter in RESISTANCE mode.
