Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

My stick is now working on my PC, X360, Xbone, and PS4. Thanks for the help all!

@Vicko sorry if it seemed I didn’t read the whole thread, I can assure you I did. Didn’t mean to muck up the thread at all.

Would it be OK to use the 5V Vcc line from the screw terminals to power the Player Indication LEDs?

@MisterM
Yes, it was fine to connect the 5V VCC on the screw terminal ( J3 ).
The J5’s VCC is outputting 3.3V …

Thanks Zippy, keep up the good work!

Oh great idea thanks guys.

Question, has anyone successfully installed this in a Madcatz SE/Brawlstick? I just received my board and am looking to install this in my modded Brawlstick. Problem is, there seems to be a big lack of space to place the board…

Better yet, if anyone happens to have a guide for installing the board in an SE shell/stick, can you link it please?

It be the same as installing a PS360+ board in terms of size of the board any any wiring you need to do.

Plenty of room

They arrived! Will start modding within the next few days and update here.

I am also getting the BSOD Crash with a MSI Z97 MPOWER motherboard running latest BIOS and Drivers. Is there a fix for this issue? I bought this PCB for use on the PC and now I can use it?

A question: could faulty wiring (switched Vcc and Gnd on the USB (J6-1) permanently ruin the board?

Nope, if you have latest mobo drivers downloaded, current Brooks firmware, and the proper XBOXONE driver installed, and tried a 2.0 port, and your still getting the BSOD.

Sorry man your SOOL, that is a specific mobo driver issue that MSI would have to solve or Brooks would have to consult with them to find out why their drivers are not compatible with this board.

I had to unload a $900.00 gaming rig because of this issue, Brooks may come out with a fix eventually, but for now your stuck with console only options or take the mobo back and get a different model or a different brand altogether.

I plugged it into my PS4 5 mins ago, got the blue LED but it doesn’t work in SFV until I use the legacy mode? Am I doing something wrong?

@GOGO.Zippy

Can something be done about this? We have multiple people experiencing the same problem.

@ignat are you sure you didn’t force PS3 mode by holding down 1P? or your 1P is held down by a botched ground wire?

“unloading a 900$ gaming rig” seems a bit silly imo. Wouldnt it have been better to just have ordered a cheap zero delay pcb to use untill brook has sorted out its compatibility issues with certain mobo’s?

In a prior post i stated this wasn’t the only reason, the PC was built for a dedicated custom Mortal Kombat X cabinet. If you keep up with the game, WB decided to drop support for it, the idea was to swap between PC and console with the brooks boards.

So when the support stopped and the brooks boards kept crashing it, there was no reason to keep it. PC ports are too finicky and have too many issues. I switched to console (xboxone) and its been a joy ride.

I lose the bootup authenticity of a cab, but lack of PC headaches is well worth it on the tradeoff.

So I recently installed the Brook Universal Fighting Board into my Hitbox and have been pretty pleased with it so far, though I’ve run into a situation that I didn’t expect.

On my old PS360+, Up+Down = Up, and Left+Right = Neutral. On my Brook Universal Fighting Board, it functions the same way in PS4 mode (Street Fighter 5) but I discovered today that 360 mode causes Left+Right = Forward in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I plan to test it in other games but is there a way to change the SOCD settings in the PCB to make Left+Right = Neutral in 360 mode?

It’s not a fix but might get it working with PC. By any chance do you have PCI USB card? I believe that would use a different USB chipset which might work.

Speaking of different USB chipsets my motherboard has different USB chipsets for the USB3 ports than the USB2 ports. I can see the MSI Z97 has USB2 & 3 ports, does the UFB crash the machine in both USB ports?

@Biggz @ignat @Dubon
Please force 360 mode on PC to test again.
>> Press ( 3P = 360 mode ) button then plug in USB.
