Iāve installed the board in my stick today but itās not working - at all.
PS4 - The blue light is lit on the board but itās not recognised at all and thereās no response to any button presses.
Xbox 360 - The blue light is lit on the board but itās not recognised at all and thereās no response to any button presses.
PC - The blue light is lit on the board but itās not recognised at all and thereās no response to any button presses. Windows 10 installs it just as a āControllerā - going to the Hardware tab of the Properties it shows as āXbox Controllerā. Yet go to the actual Game controller settings window and itās not listed among the devices.
I canāt even attempt to update the firmware because the Firmware Update software (v1.3) doesnāt even recognise the board at all either.
Iāve checked all my connections - though even if there were an issues with them, the board should still be getting recognised even with no wiring connected at all.
Have i received a faulty device? Has anybody else had this problem?
have you tried removing everything off of the board and only connecting the usb cable to a system and then shorting each button to ground to see if they are recognized? or even doing that to use the firmware updater by shorting both home and select to ground when you plug it in? A picture of how you have your board wired up would also be helpful if you can.
Did you load up the software, then hold down home + select, the plug in the board to update software?
Did you download and install the Xboxone driver for PC?
Did you try any of the force input methods?
Add manual detective mode: Press the button then plug USB(1P:PS3,2P:PS4, 3P:X360,4P:XB1)
Some folks have had success, by going into devices, right clicking the pad, go into properties and manually updating the driver, use the select your own method and choose the xbox driver from there.
Itās working fine now on all platforms; there were 2 issues: firstly, the USB pass through cable. The PS4/Xbox 360 recognised the board fine when connected directly, instead of via a pass through USB cable into a Neutrik. I guess the pass through cable i was using is faulty or just not good enough quality.
Even with the USB cable directly plugged in it still wasnāt working on PC until, as rablack97 suggested, i installed the Xbox One drivers manually.
Hi guys. Longtime lurker hoping to get some advice. Iām pretty sure Iāve made some simple mistake. I started adding the brook UFB into my X360 SFxT Fightstick Pro yesterday and wired up all of the main buttons and then the joystick. I hooked up a USB cable to the Brook PCB (which I canāt seem to remove now, so if anyone knows how I can pop that out that would be great) so that I could see if it was working. Plugged it into my 360 and my PC. PC saw it as an XBONE controller and in the diagnostics I was able to test the buttons. All the buttons work, but only DOWN and DOWN LEFT are picked up by the joystick. I observed the same behavior on my 360, none of the other directions worked besides DOWN. Could this be a grounding issue or did I simply get my wires jumbled?
Also, I see how other people were able to get the xbox/home button working along with the turbo panel on their TE sticks, but the PCB on the SFxT sticks seems to be slightly different. @fidyyuan I saw you said you put a brook UFB in a PS3 Fightstick Pro, how did you wire up the home button? The board seems clearly labeled, so I think if I just pop off the ribbon cable terminals I should just be able to connect the wires I need back to the brook. Iām not afraid to do some soldering if I have to, so if I need an inverter like I saw elsewhere in this thread I could do that.
Ive never opened a 360 madcatz stick, but i think the home button should be the second pin from the top on that cn4 header. Connect it and the gnd above it to your ufb.
No idea on jlf input issue. Recheck your wires i guess.
@EternalNoob sometimes where the little dimples on the usb b male catches into the usb b female to lock the cable in place so it does not fall out are too tight. Then when force is applied to remove the cable the dimple can not get pulled over the hook in the female. Try cutting a thin strip of a credit card and inserting on either the left or right side of where the cable mates and push the cable and strip as far into the female so that the strip slides past the female hook and over the dimple on the male. Then try to pull the cable out. You may have to wiggle it a bit or push and pull but it should eventually be able to pull out. After you get it out you might want to pinch the dimples down a little bit so the cable does not get stuck again.
@Fedora Thanks, that credit card trick worked like a charm.
I reversed the order of the wires for the Joystick and now all of the directions fire. The more I looked at it, the more I thought that was going to be the solution.
Ultimate FAQ guide:
Buttons/stick not working: Check grounds and wire stripping/screw terminals. Sometimes there just isnāt good contact or you forgot something.
Directions/buttons held down: check for stray wires near ground terminals or improper crimps.
TE specific:
directions/home-start-select not working : check lock switch and LS/DP/RS switch if you wired that up.
