There may be some confusion, I was adding to @Vicko 's comment to say that everyone will need a share button installed, as it’s a requirement to update the board.
Heys guys getting lots of great info from this thread. Quick question, I just got my new TE2 (red one for Xbone), a Crown 307ST, and my Brooks Universal Board will be here hopefully tomorrow. I have been mapping out the build layout and had two questions, with the design for the new Crown 307 FJ FT one of the connector ports (the up input) has been rotated so when trying to close the lid the original board/case gets in the way. I saw in the picture on the first page where it was just gutted and the Brooks board was placed in the lower right, so Im am thinking Ill just follow that layout and the issue will be resolved. Also, I have all the wires primed and ready to attach to the Brooks board, but Im still unsure of the best way to connect power so I can utilize the disconnect external cable that came with it. Id rather have that than just run a USB out through a hole in the front. Any suggestions? Im not really a newbie to electronics, I have built several projects (like guitar petal clones and a couple of preamps) but not really done anything major with a fightstick before, so any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
OK, just to clarify, to take advantage of this I should wire my physical select button to TPKEY on J4, or just leave it on the select pin in the 20 pin header?
This is a good point. will the new firmware be updatable by pressing PS key plus TPKEY(instead of share or select)?
Yesterday I decided to attend a local tournament after work. It probably was not the wisest thing to do, but I left my stick in the car all day (9 hours) before I went to the tournament. Temperature was around the mid 40’s F. When I got to the tournament, my stick was cold and I kept getting disconnected from the ps4 during casuals. About an hour in when the tournament started, my stick had warmed up and I did not get any disconnects. I don’t think 40 degrees is that extreme, so could there be another explanation as to why I was getting randomly disconnected? I checked the board and nothing was grounding it to cause it to short or anything like that.
Was it a solderless install or did you do some soldering? If soldered, perhaps there is an issue there or something.
TPKEY. This will give you touchpad key while on PS4 and select while on ps3/360/xb1
No. They would have to re-program the chip on the pcb.
Firmware updates aren’t all that often so you could just open your stick, screwdown the ends of a wire between gnd+select and hold the home key while plugging it in.
Updated my mobo usb drivers.
Installed the recommended xbone1 drivers (regualar xbone stick is recognized and functional)
Tried the force mode.
Board has latest firmware.
BSOD, no matter when i plug it in, sends PC in an infinite boot loop.
I am running windows 7, works fine with a console, but will not work with my PC, any new suggestions?
I built this from scratch for the new MKX, running PC version (I know support is gone) However, i switched to the Brooks boards and its crashing with the BSOD, Iusb3hub.sys error.
I have about 20 hours of troubleshooting this problem with no success, i’m doing a blog with hackaday on the machine and would like to showcase the brooks boards as well, but right now I dont know how if they don’t work.
I have a plan B, xboxone, last night my xboxone updated and i was experiencing drops, freezes and major lag.
