Using a Hitbox. I’m not going to be first in line to take a drill to its metal frame.
There are a lot of ways around this, but I’m petitioning to the board makers to make changes that benefit people in my situation without inconveniencing other users.
For clarity here are my foreseeable scenarios:
Brook updates the firmware so the TPKEY pin acts as the SELECT pin when not in PS4 mode
Brook updates the firmware so TOUCHPAD can be pressed without using the TPKEY pin, through a macro
I jumper the TPKEY pin to the SELECT PIN, and everytime I push it a screenshot gets taken -_-
I sacrifice 4K, replace with TPKEY
Do nothing, stay sad in training mode and input config
I got my boards in today and just finished installing in a 360 TE. Very easy process. The only thing I soldered was a usb cable.
I did have to force drivers on windows 10 and there are some quirks in Ultra, like assigning all 3K to HK and when playing arcade mode after winning the first match If I hit the start button it takes me to the character select screen and if I choose both characters (player1 and player2) then during the match I can control both. Very weird. Not sure if these issues are Windows 10 specific.
Great quality product overall, will be testing it out on KI/Xbox One soon.
Firmware update fixed the issue. Good stuff.
For 3 Gummo suggested to me to use a switch like a version 1 IMP board.
Number 4 seems to be the most practical
6. for metal I was suggested by others to use a Step Drill Bit.
That is good news! I was a little worried that it would take a while before a firmware patch would come out and fix it.
I will probably have the PCB next week. Can’t wait to get it in my hands and put it in my modded fightstick!
Just swapped out my PS360+ for a Brook Universal in my daily driver hitbox TE. Works like a charm. I’ve got two more in the box right here waiting to be installed in my Vewlix cab this weekend.
A few quick notes:
Was kinda bummed there weren’t any plugs on the lower half of the board (similar to how PS360+ was set up). I originally had my player LEDs simply plugged in, and I ended up having to whip out the soldering iron to finish that part of the job.
Like everyone else, I’ve been trying to figure out the most optimal way to reconcile the touchpad button for USFIV on PS4. My short term solution (for TE platforms) is to simply map it to the turbo button on the guide panel, while leaving start/options and select/share in the same place as normal. For custom cases, it seems best to just drill a fourth hole in the back (start, select, touchpad, menu) and just get used to that arrangement.
Were there any plans to use the J2 block on the board? That’s where the mic cable went into the PS360+. Wired voice chat still very much alive on XB1/360.
Christ, could Sony be any bigger bitches at this point?
All Guys
We just released a version to fix and add more function on Brook Universal Fighting Board(UFB)
(1)Timeout issue on Win10
(2)Adjust SOCD Cleaner outputting
(3)Add the Forced Mode to select consoles (1P = PS3 / 2P = PS4 / 3P = 360 / 4P = Xbox One )
(4)Add PS4 touch simulate function ( Move Stick then press TP Key to simulate )
How to update?
Step1: Run App and don’t plug UFB
Step2: Follow [ Combo Keys ] then plugged UFB
Step3: Waiting Updated to enable and do
Step4: Successful and re-plug
Step5: if NG, please install official XB1 USB Driver and try again
Thank you in advanced and Happy Chinese New Year to U
i think you misunderstood my question Zippy. im asking if your other product, the ps3/ps4 fighting board will also receive an update to add this functionality.
Yo everyone! I’ve successfully modded a MadCatz Fightstick Pro to work with the Brooks board while still maintaining use of the original 13’ USB cable so if anyone has questions about that, lemme know!
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just got a couple of these boards and have a watched a few tutorial videos. I am not worried about the wiring, but I cannot find definite information about some of the parts people are using in the videos for the pass through.
Zippy does this mean after the update that auto select will no longer work and we will need to solder 1p/2p/3p/4p to select the console? or will it only force if we select 1p, etc?
