Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Why not just use L1/2 since most people don’t use 4p 4k anyway

PC crashes when I plug it in, totally freezes my machine. Board worked fine on Ps3 Ps4 and 360. Am on Windows 7. if I boot with it plugged in sometimes it freezes while loading windows, sometimes not.

When I plug it in, windows instantly freezes, unplugging it doesn’t help, gotta reboot.

@DaymanMasterOfKarate
Brook is going to look this bit on Win10…
To Fix on Win10 and add the force mode to press some keys.

I just hate the feeling of having 8 buttons on the top face buttons as opposed to 6 for some unknown reason, but I guess 7 buttons would be better tho. Tbh I was thinking about 7 buttons for the TPKey alone.

Yikes! If you plan on drilling through the steel, get a step bit and then get a nice small bit to start it. If you think the HitBox metal is bad, the OG is going to be even crazier (And I have drilled through a finished one).

Yea I know how much of a nightmare it’ll be, it’s only a last resort so it’s probably not going to happen unless I find no other solution. Thanks for the tip tho Jasen, can’t wait to get that case.

Sorry should mention i am on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I got it working, but only halfway and in a janky way, I will explian.

I installed the x64 Xbox1 driver from here:
http://support.xbox.com/ms-MY/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

After doing that, my controller still didn’t work. To fix this, I did something I had to do with my PS360+: Start Button>Devices and Printers, then found my controller (which was listed as simply “controller” in the display). I then right clicked controller, selected properties. From there I went to the hardware tab, and pressed the properties button. Select Driver tab, then Update Driver. Choose “Browse my computer for software” then “Let me pick from a list…”. Then, the only option on the list was Xbox One Controller (from what I remember).

After doing this, I was prompted to reboot, and did so.

The controller now works, at least in SF4 PC, in a janky fashion.

I need to boot the PC with my brooks board controller already plugged in. Plugging it in later freezes my Windows 7 Ultimate PC instantly like before.

I still receive the errors I was getting before upon login when I boot with the controller plugged in:

The top one appears, and when I close that, the bottom one appears.

If I leave the controller plugged in after that, no problems seem to occur, at least so far.

Sorry if this is hard tyo read I’m still a little tipsy from earlier, I just wanted to play some sf4 with my new board :L

This should be resolved soon with a forced mode macro as jonyfraze posted before.

Or you just bridge TP and 4P. So in a normal match you can still use 4P as TP does nothing in a match. And in training mode you can access TP to reset position… Just another option…

@DaymanMasterOfKarate

Brook already fixed this on Win10 for testing on more laptop and desktop, at this time USB added the forced mode …

How to run the Forced mode?
Press 1P=PS3 / 2P=PS4 / 3P=360 / 4P=XboxOne , then plugged in USB.

Zippy just showed up at a tourney plugged into a PS4 and nothing is working. Works fine on the 360 in the same room. Did sony do an update to lock out the brooks board?

Edit: home button shorted out on the original madcatz board. Disregard.

Cool, thanks for the info!

guys… update on the beta firmware… happy to report i just tested a new firmware that resolves the windows 10 auto-detect issue. i no longer have to force the board into 360 mode. it connects as a XB1 controller without the disconnect issue some of us were experiencing. They also left the forced modes intact as well as the SOCD updates. Going thru last rounds of QC and it should be good to go… stay tuned for Zippy’s official release.

I know I’m grasping at straws here, but can someone test if the UFB works with PSTV while using the 1P or 2P forced modes?

@DaymanMasterOfKarate
PSTV only supported and ran DS3/DS4 specification. Brook is followed Third-Party specification to design …
So. Brook goods can’t work with PSTV…

That’s too bad. Thanks for letting me know.

It’s how Sony wants to handle the PSTV, they made it nearly impossible to use with 3rd party controllers.
Unless you have a DS3 or DS4 or something that imitates one of those two controllers you aren’t using it with the PSTV.

@GOGO.Zippy Is it possible for TPKEY to act as SELECT when in PS3 and XB360 modes?

@SunTzu81
Please double check your madcatz pcbs .

If your stick has a turbo button, I say map your TPkey to that.
