Since Capcom have now updated their rules around all-button controllers would it be possible to have an option added to the UFB to disable SOCD completely so the game itself can handle it instead? They’ve effectively banned “Last Input”.
When both Right and Left directional keys are input at the same time, a controller has to either maintain both of the inputs or abandon both.
When both Upward and Downward directional keys are input at the same time, it is recommended that a controller has to either maintain both of the inputs or abandon of both. However, it is exceptionally allowed a controller to take Upward directional only when both Upward and Downward directional keys were input at the same time, by respecting the history of FGC and CPT operations. Capcom MV reserves the right to revoke/adjust this exception at CPT.
Brook Universal Fighting Board issue: will light up but not connect to ps4/switch/ and pc!!!
i got this brook board back in march 27 2019. it work fine and had no issue. it was connected with the retro board combo that arcade shock had bundle up with the cables and harness. i stop useding it since i had no time to play on my console due of work. now it doesn’t work after i pull it out and trying to play on my ps4. i try firmware 12-2018 v2.6 off of the brook website and it doesn’t work. i used four different usb cords to directly connect the board to my ps4 and switch and nothing. but when i plug it up to my pc it show p4 wire control but it still didn’t do nothing and each time i connected to ever device console to pc it will light up but not work.
does this mean the board is dead after it was working couple of months ago? i did sign a report to brook about my issue
also i check if my brook retro board work and it did. on my retron5 and gamecube. (i didn’t pull out my ps2 because i didn’t feel like taking out my closet and also trying to find the pound hdmi cable)
can anybody help me out with this issue or confirm that the issue i am having is a dead board
never mind i was able to fix it. i had to manuel set the board to p4 mode and on the brook retro board i had to put in a jumper on the usb pass threw on the board. so everything is set
Is there anyway I can make two button presses (like L1+L2) activate the ‘Home’ button? I don’t have enough buttons on my case for a dedicated ‘Home’ and don’t want to drill/dremel into it if I can avoid.
yes you can build your own circuit with a NAND and AND chips.
Pressing both buttons would do the action you want with the AND chip.
And cancel each other when both are pressed with the NAND chip. As would SOCD work.
does anyone know If the UFB can handle an analog signal like the ps4+ audio? right now I’m converting the analog signal to digital. but, in LS mode can I send an analog signal and get true analog? also, does anyone know what chip they are using so I can read up more about it. mine is covered in black gunk.
Hello all, I have bough a PS4 + Audio Fighting board. I really struggle to make it work well.
Context :
Regarding my setup, I am on batocera (kind of recalbox/retropie like OS), and my computer is an x86-64 with AMD Ryzen CPU. I have also the latest product firmware (V1.6), and I have tried the Manual plug process (3P + plug). Before Brook product I was using a no-name arcade zero delay controller. The reason why I have bought the Brook fighting board product is because it has analog stick terminals.
My issue :
When I boot, the controller is not recognized at all (despite the blue LED). But if I unplug, then plug again after boot, then the gamepad is well recognized and everything works just fine.
The problem is that the USB port is inside the computer case, so I cannot always unplug/plug.
What do you think about this issue ? I am really sad that it is not plug-n-play compared than the arcade zero-delay for instance. Thank you for your kind help.
Same problem as EvilLinkz, UFB is not recognized on ps4 slim with firmware 6.72. PCB firmware updated to V2.6 and it works perfectly on my switch and PC.
Tried to connect it to my PS4 while pushing 2P (booting it in PS4 mode), but still nothing happen when I press the PS button (or any other buttons…)
Anybody here able to confirm their UFB is working on ps4’s firmware 6.7?
Hey man, I just wanted to tell you that I figured out my problem a while ago. It turned out to be the USB cable, after I swapped the cable out it worked fine on everything.
I was going through my parts box in prep to mod my HSS-0130. I found two Brook UFB boards with soldered-on headers. I was about to hit up DigiKey for some angled JST PH and 2.54mm pin headers to make things identical, when I noticed some key differences on both boards at U2 and U3.
Outside of this, the rest of the components another orientations on the boards seem identical. Can someone here tell me what the changes were at U2 and U3 on these boards?
Would these changes affect any function at all?
Hi,
My Brook UFB don´t recognize the Xbox One, all the other modes are OK, either in manual ou automatic mode. Tested it with a lot of different cables.
On PC it automatic detects as Not Specified “Controller” in Devices and Printers.
Manual mode Xbox 360 works perfect. PS4 automatic or manual works perfect.
Last firmware installed on UFB.
Hope you can help me, thanks!
(though I have heard it was a simple physical form adapter, meaning it is ELECTRICLY identical to USB. If true, do I look up “USB to Original Xbox adapter” on the web and any will do, or only a specific brand/retailer for the Brook Universal USB/ Brook Retro)
Can you hook up an old school Happ perfect 360 joystick to the ufb? I can see there is an extra spot on the board for vcc 5v but do I hook the ground from the p360 to one of the other available ground screw terminals or is the ground from the p360 not needed?
Question about Brook Universal USB:. There is an 18th button for touch pad on PS4.
Does it work for Nintendo Switch as the “capture video” button?
Stan couldn’t figure out how to wire “capture video”. Is there a different way to wire it due to the PS4 Touchpad?
If Jasen Hicks and a Brook Representative is reading this, 2 things I’d like to see in firmware updates:
A. Single Joycon mode for 8 player local Bomberman.
B. Clean up a few of the remaining systems on the Retro board, like
I. WII Classic/ NES Mini / SNES mini.
II . N64
III. Consolized Virtual Boy.
IV. If programmable modes already exist within a System, since most SNES joysticks and games assume the YBA standard, yet the BAR standard is used for Street Fighter 2 the biggest SNES reason to buy a Brook, maybe a YBA<->BAR digital switch. Hold QK upon startup for YBA, and MK upon startup for BAR. also there are extra buttons. Maybe one of those can be YBA/BAR switch.
