Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Has anyone install this pcb in a razer for Xbox one???.

Alot of things were promised for the PS360+ that was never delivered, like Dreamcast VMU support.

Lol. This sounds like a sore spot. Well… Any chance Brook will deliver where akishop failed? It doesn’t need to be all or nothing too. You can keep the multi console encoder closed source.

Read --> translate direction to analog stick or dpad --> (custom remapping here) --> encode.

If you make the middle two sections open source, I’ll submit a pull request.

What would be the advantage of having the PS360+ and the Brook UFB in a single build? Based on the surface specs it looks redundant.

I’m guessing it’s for legacy console support, but even then an MC Cthulhu would be the better option than a PS360+

It has an L3 and R3 terminal

Help me understand. The Brook UFB allows you to connect to L3 and R3 on J4. It’s even easier if you have the soldered JST connectors and harness.

Oops, I read that wrong. I read advantage of Brook over PS360+.

Don’t use imp board for the selection…Brook UFB one will not function with the Xbox One through that for some reason.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess I will likely just be going with one port for USB and one for RJ45 in this case since I’d want Xbone compatibility.

What are the disadvantages to switching from stock Hori VLX board to a Brook UFB? How long does it normally take for the software update when Sony does a system software update? Has anyone ever had to go days being unable to use their stick? Is the latency less than most stock boards? I want it mainly for the SOCD cleaner included for my Hori VLX with Hitbox panel. Please lemme know. Thanks.

The main disadvantage is that you would be doing a mod to your VLX and hurting it’s collectible value. If you don’t care about that, then…

I would say the UFB supports more systems, so you could get more use out of your big investment into a VLX, the BIG DEAL less lag topic also rears it’s head ( the UFB has less lag, if you care, I don’t ), and lastly if a beefy strong PS4 update came around that took the Brook boys longer that the usual 1~3 days to overcome… you can always force boot the PCB into PS3 mode and party hearty in legacy controller mode for the time being.

Get a VLX EZ MOD and you can revert at any time

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any truth to what is written on this site. Brooks board is mentioned as well:

http://www.teyah.net/sticklag/results.html

Thanks in advance. Take care!

Thats brooks ps3/4 pcb, not the ufb. Those results are also dated as brook has realeased several firmwares that improve response time since. Ufb should be faster then ps360+ now

Are there step by step instructions anywhere for updating the firmware of the ps3/ps4 pcb? And also of installing the ps3/ps4 pcb into an xbox360 joystick? I’m particularly wondering about hooking up the home/turb/L/R/DS button functions.

Pretty sure Nikogel360, ShinMagus and myself have all found the UFB to be the fastest board.

Check the downloads page on brook’s website. http://www.brookaccessory.com/download/PS4/

There are connection points for all the buttons you mentioned above - just a matter of rewiring the ground/signal to the Brook PCB. Also there’s a whole separate thread for the p3/p4 board here On SRK. Lots of info there. This thread is for the UFB. Good luck.

Anyone updated to the latest PS4 4.50 system update? Do we need a new firmware for the UFB?

@hyp36rmax
We never get it from PS4.
