Whats the minimal amount I need to wire up a UFB just to update the firmware? Not planing of fully wiring it yet, but I want to make sure the boards I have are on the latest firmware when I do. Thx
So I was at a local tournament on Thursday and was experiencing random controller disconnects throughout the night; I have a Brook Universal Fighting Board in my fightstick. I checked the connections thinking it was a loose wire but despite tugging and wiggling wires, pressing buttons and even reupdating the firmware the stick kept disconnecting. At home I donāt have this issue on my PS4 or PC and I was able to play for hours without incident but at the local I was the only one experiencing a disconnect issue so I ruled out the possibility of a faulty board and wiring. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix for the disconnect problem?
From what ive read its an electricity issue. Basically whoever set up the tournament put too many ps4s/monitors on the same circuit. Ps4 can have issues with powering usb devices.
@ArcadeFrog were you plugging in directly to the console or a USB hub? could be the power draw not being strong enough due to the hub or the additional cable length. Also is your USB cable soldered in to the UFB or are you using the A to B jack? If it continues to happen swap the cable with a fresh one as a precaution.
Anybody try this with a PSTV? Both of my sticks (Madcatz SF4 SE, Hori Tekken 5 wireless) donāt work on the PSTV for some reason⦠I was thinking on making one eventually anyways, just wanted to know if the ps3 functionality worked on PSTV.
Only controllers that work on the PSTV are Sony Dual Shock 3 and Sony Dual Shock 4 game pads. None of the other officially licensed 3rd party controllers work on the PSTV.
Anything else that could work on the PSTV is mimicking the Dual Shock controllers.
As for Brook Products, I donāt know their inner workings that well to say for certain.
Can a Brook board support 2 sticks if I were to build a custom dual stick controller??? I have a couple of games that can use 2 sticks (Assault Android Cactus comes to mind)
Are you speaking of two Analog thumb sticks or two arcade controllers?
People generally here use the term Stick as a singular arcade controller, shorten from the term Fightstick.
@ArcadeFrog if your board and USB cable is in good shape then the rest is out of your control. Try using a shorter cable or it can also be what @Dubon was saying regarding having multiple setups plugged into the same grid. FYI this also happens to official 3rd party licensed products like the hori FC4 Fightpads. Itās not UFB specific.
