so I got the stick to recognize on my mac (thanks to who suggested Joystick Show!), but when I try to update the firm ware I get the “final checksum error” as well. :((((
thanks dude, i had a feeling OSX had something to do with it, all sorts of programs stop working when they release new versions. i’ll try to get on a friends windows machine.
I’m afraid thats what I’m going to have to do. I don’t have a windows machine so I’ll have to go to the local library and do it that way. I’m sure I’ll get some weird looks but whatever. I need to press buttons!
When I plug my hitbox with a Brooks Universal board in to my PC, it is initially be listed as “P4 Wired Gamepad v1.6” under my devices.
After about 20 seconds, Widows makes a sound as if I unplugged a device, and my hitbox is now listed simply as “controller” under devices.
This makes it to I can’t use the controller in any game.
I have the latest version of the firmware.
If I force the hitbox to connect as a different controller type, the same problem still happens.
Also when I plug in my hitbox, I two error messages, one saying a c++ runtime crashed, and another saying that “Microsoft 360 Accessories Status” has crashed. However I have always had those error messages come up on my PC with my brooks board, so I’m not sure if it’s related to this.
I am interested to purchase the Brooks Universal PCB. Reason why is planning to use it on Windows 10 with Guilty Gear XRD Revelator and SFV. Going to make the switch to Fightstick as i have been playing pretty much all my fighting life with gamepads. Currently practicing with “Hori Fight Stick Mini 4” before i make the plunge to premium fight stick.
Read to many issues with Fight sticks not working fully on W10 in particular the triggers so you end up with just 6 buttons or have to result to software or converters to change it to Xinput. But they have input lag as i have experienced with my Dualshock 4 with steam + Guilty Gear. Changed back to Xbox 360 gamepad and gone was the input lag.
So my questions about the Brooks Universal PCB please forgive me if this is already answered in this thread been reading through this thread but couldn’t find the answer so bare with me.
1 - According to specs it uses Xinput so does this mean no more input lag on W10?
2 - Will it allow for the full usage of 8 buttons on W10 without the use of third party software or converters?
3 - Lastly can i use the Hori Hayabusa stick without soldering, it uses 6 pin cable if i am not mistaken the PCB has a “vcc” this could be used for the 6th pin cable correct in order to use the Hayabusa?
