Brook PS3/PS4 "Fightboard" PCB Thread

Finally got my hands on this PCB that is also attached to the PAS breakout board…
Just looking at the diagram and looking very close, is it safe to say that the “SM±” and “BM±” is the same as the “USB_OTHER” & “USB_PS360” data ± out?

If so, then you could literally just use SM or BM terminal and wire it to the Sys2 on the CrossboneTE2.
Hope I’m right… I wish Brook’s site gave more information on the other pinouts :angry:

i thought the sm and bm points were for “rumble” motors. You know the things that make a regular controller vibrate.
the usb switching should be done by the breakout board itself, not the brook pcb

yeah, i didn’t see anything on their website what the SM and BM does, so you are probably correct…
Then that would mean, yes, I would have to use the USB_PS360 from the breakout board to connect to CrossBoneTE2.

If it comes down to that, it’s still cake anyway to just wire D± from the Brook breakout to the crossbone.

I’m planning on taking out the PS360+ and replace it w/the Brook PCB… Then that way, if i want the PS360+ back, I could just add that from the Brook PCB and use an ImpV2 w/it (w/the Sys2 inverted of course for flashing, and also switching from PS4 > XBone or PS4 > PS360+

Please go Brook website to look.

The PAS breakout board, please call with Paradise to offer.

I did look at the website, even on the vendor’s website… besides the “SM±” and “BM±” label, there’s no other information for it… but it’s ok though… i’ll use the USB_PS360 breakout for me to tap onto the TE2Crossbone PCB and just invert the Sys2

You can try your question at the Paradise Arcade shop’s thread

@armi0024 or @SusanInParadise could help you out.

Hey guys, modder with moderate skill here. Is there a screw terminal that is recommended that will work with this board? I want to solder as little as possible after installing this board so I want screw terminals to install directly with this board.

Also has anybody upgraded the firmware with the original IMP board by Toodles installed? Does it work?

I have with the imp v2, but I didn’t make “guide” the switching button, I made it the RS switch as the switching button

I did the same thing, that’s good to hear

Is there any answer on screw terminals? Also are the breakout boards on paradise just out of stock or will they never be restocked again?

The ps3/ps4 Brook boards are out of stock, not just at Paradise but everywhere it seems.

Restock again in Paradise shop today
Please look and contact …

hey again
i changed the usb cable and the issue is not solved at all :frowning:
i think that my brook PCB is malfunctioning
any more ideas?

hey, so if i order the brooks board with the PAS, is it completely solderless if i just want to hook up the buttons/stick and nothing else? How easy is installation? I couldn’t find any videos of it being installed. Also, does it work fine on PC? And lastly, can I use a daisy chain wire for the ground? Thanks in advance and sorry for the nooby questions!

@GeorgeMooey

My suggestions is to purchase a breakout board and Brook board. You don’t solder any wires on it
Yes, it works fine in X-INPUT Mode on PC.

Hello; I am having a problem with my brook ps3/4 board’s compatibility with ps4 games but not menus. After installing latest firmware to the board I tested on ps4 and it worked 100%. Afterward I tested out the board on ps3 and same thing everything worked 100%. Afterwards I tested back on ps4 where I had the problem. When I booted the ps4 up and connected to usb everything worked fine. I was able to navigate through ps4 menus, sign in/out etc. When I booted a game on the otherhand, no functionality was present except the home and share buttons. This was tested on disc version of Street Fighter V and Ultra Street Fighter 4 on hard drive. No inputs on the brook ps3/4 board were functioning in-game other than the “home” and “share” buttons. Any help would be appreciated.

I have to agree, unless you are skilled with soldering and confidant in your abilities I would avoid soldering.

If you burn a pad, or lifted a pad or trace. The Repair job you have on hand is harder than the initial soldering you have to do in the first place.

We are looking your issue in office, and if possible. please capture a video to share.

@souPerphrEsh
In office, to boot and turn off/on PS4, the Brook PS3/PS4 board works fine on SFV game.

If possible. please capture a video to share and look.

@GOGO.Zippy Funny thing while recording video the inputs started to register during the game. It started working when I opened the stick to record inside to show the brook board. Maybe I need to re-think my wiring. I will post again if this problem returns. Thanks for all the help.
