Interested in buying some of these, but confused after reading this thread. Hoping someone can clarify.
Which Brook adapters do I need for the following 3 conversions?
(1) PS360+ to PS4
(2) PS360+ to Xbox One
(3) Xbox One Elite controller to PS4
My PS360+'s (my panel is premade by Recroommasters) autodetect whether they are connected to PS3 of Xbox 360. My PC detects them as 360 controls. So not sure what Brooks to get. I also need to update them, and that’s confusing enough from looking at the instructions.
There are some installers and programs that will trigger a false result/alarm for an anti-virus.
Most anti-virus programs can be temporarily disabled, ether for a set time period or after a restart.
Has anyone had a problem with Windows not allowing the driver to be manually installed? I need to update the firmware on my white ps3>ps4 converter to use my ps360+ but cannot get Windows to update the driver. I downloaded the usb32 and usb64 folders from the dropbox linked earlier and from the website and neither are working. When I manually route windows to the folder I put the files in it says “Windows could not find driver software for your device.”
@bizzazz
The A file ran to process on PS4 console, the B file read and wrote with devices like PS3 stick. When you have compitable issues, you might be only update B file.
For example: Tournament mode, you only updated A file to disable turbo/ keymap function on P4 console.
so i just ordered the xbox360/XB1>PS4 today and i had a few questions before it gets here.
The manual i see on the brook website, it only shows PS4 controllers when you do firmware updates. Does that mean when i connect the converter to my PC i have to have my ps4 controller plugged in as well or my Xbox 1 controller?
2.If it is the Xbox1 controller, how do i update since the XB1 controller doesnt have the pshome button? am i using the xboxguide button instead?
For the PS360+ and Elite controllers they can both use the X360Xone to PS4 adapter. I use one for my Elite, actually. Would prevent having to use 2 adapters for this.
Ok, so first impressions:
The Driving Force GT works on the PS4 home menu. I tried the DFGT while playing Project Cars on PS4. So, what the adapter does is map the DualShock 4 inputs to the Steering Wheel. That means no Force Feedback. Or rather, the vibration function on the DS4 is converted to Force Feedback which is quite annoying because every little thing like shifting up or down is translated into 100% Force Feedback (Even if you have 1/100 Force Feedback settings). I was able to find decent settings but I had a small problem: while rotating the DFGT to the right it would go as smooth as it should be. While rotating to the left however, there was a gap between 2º and 12º give or take. That means that if I was steering left, the wheel would jump from a 2º turn to a 12º turn. Impossible to play a racing sim like that. And I know it’s not a faulty DFGT because I plugged it to my PS3 and played a bit of Gran Turismo 6 just to make sure. Everything else worked fine but Project Cars might be playable because you can tweak most of the Steering Settings. I imagine games like Driveclub would force the DS4 deadzone on the DFGT which might make some racing games unplayable.
My suggestion: not sure if it’s possible but if you’re able to make both the DFGT and G27 to be recognized as a G29 - while making force feedback work properly - would be awesome (though highly improbable).
Thanks for the beta and I’ll be waiting for your reply
PS: This isn’t a rant. I’m very much appreciated for your efforts into making the DFGT compatible with the PS4. It’s just my honest opinion. Please don’t take it the wrong way
Thanks for trying the firmware out for him – sorry, I’ve been too busy lately.
I didn’t expect force feedback to work, so I’m not surprised there. As far as I know, the drivers for that stuff is pretty specialized. Crossing my fingers that Brooks can get it to detect as a wheel for input, though – I don’t imagine having it mapped to analog sticks would be very playable.
@jonyfraze is it possible you dont have latest firmware? The two twitter posts @GOGO.Zippy mentioned have poeple saying it works but not sure if I want to risk it based on that…
