Brook Converters Thread

2 things

  1. Will there be a USB Bluetooth Adapter for the Switch that would sync up a Wiimote?

  2. Will there be a USB Dongle for the WII U Pro Controller on the Switch?

My PS3>PS4 converter just timed me out, but it took well over 30 mins to happen. What’s going on? It was working fine before. Very long time before timing out. I last updated when brook made it easy to do with no controller with a PC.
Do I need to update it again? Only problem is I have no PC now, just a google chromebook

There is a new update of PS4 OS (4.70), Xbox one to PS4 is still working?

Thanks guys.

yes, everything is good

you may give it a go
however, i intend to know if there’s any change with your gaming environment? such as you use other controller, other cables or etc…

Will there be an adapter for generic PC pads, like Xinput or Dinput like the ones the PS3 uses? I would like to use the Pokken Pad for Neo Geo games on the PS4.

Hello,

I have the PS360+ PCB’s in my cabinet. I would like to be able to play my PS4 without the 8 minute timeout. According to FocusAttack.com’s help&tips section Here , the green 360 to PS4 dongle should work. I have a few concerns though. I have looked into this for two days and read countless forums and watched a ton of videos. If someone could answer them and alleviate my fears that would be great.

  1. Would this cause any lag? I know a video showed some. But I cannot gauge if it is significant in actual play.
  2. Do I seriously have to update the firmware every time Sony puts out a patch?
  3. Do I seriously have to press the 2P button every time for the PS360+ board to enter forced 360 mode to use this dongle?
  4. I know it’s more expensive, but is just getting the Universal Fight Board the better option and removing my PS360+ boards?

Thanks for any help. I bought the PS360+ with the promise there would be future support but they have gone completely off the radar. Looking for a more permanent ā€œset it and forget itā€ option. I looked into pad hacks as well, but asking about this first as it’s easier to implement.

I was in the same boat waiting on the timeout to get fixed on the ps360+. I sprung for replacing it with a ufb and haven’t regretted it yet. Having to update the firmware every time Sony does indeed lock it out is a small price to pay for actually having support from Brook to get the ufb back up and running proper. If hypothetically the ps360+ had an update that fixed the 8 min timeout everytime Sony blocked it you would have to update that pcb again as well,if support still existed.

The last few PS4 updates the Brook converters have worked w/no update needed.

  1. Objectively speaking, it should have input lag since a device is connected between console and controller for signal transformation.
However, you won’t feel it in your game
  2. No, you don’t. As long as it works good, in fact, you don’t need firmware update.
  3. No, you don’t. Brook converter detects the device automatically.
  4. You can do that, but it still depends on your need

Hey I’ve got a question for any Xbox 360 to Xbox One or PS3/PS4 to Xbox One converter users…are you guys able to have full functionality with backward compatible games on the Xbox One?

I’m looking into running a PS3 Qanba stick through a converter for Xbox One use and 360 backward compatibility is a deal breaker for me.

I have the white PS3->PS4 adapter. When I try to update the firmware it just says not responding. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Does anyone have any tips to help me out? I tried the PS3->PS4 and the PS3-> PS4 TE just to see if there was a difference. It still does the same thing.

have you done firmware update before?
and what does the round sticker on the back of the converter show?

Never did a firmware update before. #15 in the middle of a circle of numbers with the number 1 crossed out

Is there a Nintendo Switch converter in the works? I dont want to go to the padhacking route…

I tried on my wife’s Mac. It says timeout (wait LDROM) I click ok and it says Firmware successfully updated and I click on finish. When I plug it into the PS4 it works fine for a few minutes and then stops working. I’m not real tech savvy so this is frustrating to me. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or its the software update not working.

You have to go through the older updates first to update then you can proceed updating to the latest version. The old update can be found on the site.

How do I know what version is on the converter?

u can see the round sticker on the back of the converter
16 /17 is year, and 1 - 12 is when it is shipped

Thank you guys!!! It seems to be working now.
