Brook Converters Thread

@Brook_Engineer @GOGO.Zippy I just got a new xb1 controller from best buy (I do this often bc my RB button frequently breaks). But this time the xb1 to ps4 brook converter is not registering the controller. The converter lights up, the controller vibrates when connected to the ps4, but thats about it. It pretty much just stays synced to the xb1 or stays searching to b synced to an xb1.
This might be due to this new xb1 controller being usable on windows, but when I went back to the store to try and maybe get some older xb1 controller that is not compatible with windows, I saw every new xb1 controller available in the store was now compatible with windows. Help!

(Thats the exact product I bought in-store)

is this the same controller as the one you used to use?

They have 2 different model numbers but they look identical. I Think this is a problem with new regular xb1 controllers being made differently (note: i have other older regular xb1 controllers with broken RB buttons laying around and the converter detects n works fin with those. This is what I was used to getting every time a controller busted.

I use the new Xbox One controller (the one with bluetooth) and it works fine with the Xbox One/Xbox 360 to PS4 super converter. So it may be that the ā€˜Xbox One with cable for Windows’ version is subtly different from the regular version.

@Brook_Engineer Any news? I might just buy a new controller since I haven’t been able to practice SFV and I don’t know how long until I know whether there’s something I can do to my converter now to get the new reg xbox controller to work, or if theres going to be an update that includes these new xbox one controllers.

Hi everyone, I might be a bit off topic but if you have an answer that would be great.

I just bought a TE2 (Xbox One) for my PC. I only have six buttons working (this is a famous problem), I was wondering if the Brook Xbox One->PS4 would make the eight buttons work.

And if they don’t do you think I should return the stick or keep it with those six buttons working (I bought it for 90€ new).

@Skyate
Brook XBOXone to PS4 can support eight buttons

Are you 100% sure? I’ve read tones of comments about the subject and a lot of people were saying that the Brook Converter didn’t change their problem.

the controller seems to be only working on PC, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t work.
the light and vibration should indicate that the controller is power on…

So if the controller works on PC, the brook converter does not work? What if all new xb1 controllers are made to work on both xb1 and PC like my new one? All of the new xb1 controllers at best buy now say they work on both xb1 and PC. This is a big problem. And yes, the new xb1 controller vibrates when plugged in to the PS4 with the converter but the light does not come on. The controller doesn’t work at all. I can hold down the home button to turn it on while its plugged in to the PS4 but it just connects to my xb1. This is very disappointing. I guess I’ll go out today and try to search stores for older versions of the xb1 controller. :frowning:

And to be clear, my new xb1 controller works on both xb1 and PC. Not only on PC. All new xb1 controllers at best buy when I bought it are xb1 controllers that also work on PC. I’m gonna try and replace my current xb1 controller with one of the others at best buy (like a white or blue one for ex) to see if its some wierd fluke of a situation but, if these new xb1 controllers that work for both xb1 and PC dont work with brook xb1 to PS4 converter, I am left with no choice but to hunt for an older model xb1 controller somewhere. I’m really hoping Brook updates the xb1 to PS4 to allow for these new xb1 controllers to work in the future.

Quick question: when it comes to getting a PS3 to PS4 converter, that’s the only thing I need to have besides a PS4 controller, right? No additional items are necessary?

You don’t need a ps4 controller, all you need is your adapter, your PS3 controller and a PC to update.

I recently got myself a PS4 Elite controller. Honestly it’s pretty good but I want to use it on PC as a 360/xbox one controller. It appears as P4 Controller under my settings and apparently that’s a common name? If I could convert it to even Xbox One I could use it natively on my PC without going through the hassles of creating emulator profiles. Funny enough the driver update menu looks identical to the brook one so hopefully it should be easy. The adapter also comes with a button and is pretty similar to the brook adapters (I can show you a pic if you guys need it).

Let me know if there’s a way to possibly do it as I’m not sure which config works for P4 Controllers.

Have you got the latest firmware installed? There was a firmware update in October to support the revised Xbox One controller (the one with Bluetooth) which I assume is the variant you have.

Appreciate the reply. Looks like I’m good to go.

maybe try to use another cable.
or a video would be great that shows the situation on both of the controllers

Yes. But i can try again

I tried that. Ill see if i can get a vid up soon

Hi Brook / GoGo

Just got the XB1 to PS4 converter (Pink One). Updated it successfully and have plugged it into my PS4 Pro. Blue light comes up.
Tried to plug in two standard Xbox One Controllers (1 XB1S and the other older XB1) and both don’t want to register. They both vibrate quickly when I plug them in but nothing after that. I also use both controllers with my Xbox One, would that effect it connecting to the PS4?

Am I doing something wrong? Is the converter compatible with the PS4 Pro?? Please help!

EDIT: Think I figured it out. You have to unpair the XB1 controller from the XB1 before you can use it with the PS4. Makes sense as every time you press the home button it would turn on the XB1 annoyingly.
