@HalfCent
White Converter(P3 to P4) only worked on PS4 not PS3, if you want to play on both of PS3 and PS4, please purchase Yellow converter (PS3/PS4 to PS3/PS4).
I know, Iām trying to use it with a PS4 console (and testing with PC). If I plug in a standard Dualshock 3 -> converter -> PC (or PS4), everything works. If I plug in PS3 Rhythm Controller -> converter -> PC (or PS4), it does not.
I have control of the PS3 Rhythm Controllerās firmware, so I can change anything I need to on that side. I just need to know what exactly the brook converter detects / listens for on the controller side so I know how to change my PS3 Rhythm Controllerās firmware.
No, itās made and coded by me. I can still give you pictures if you want, but itās just a wood box with buttons. I am able to use the Home button on a PS3.
Iām sure itās one of the features of USB Iām using, I was just hoping for a little guidance before I started randomly removing them to figure out whatās breaking it. The ones I could think of immediately are:
The controller has a bootloader that runs over USB for about 2 seconds before resetting the USB port on the controller and presenting as an HID device.
The controller presents itself as a composite HID device, with one endoint being the Gamepad and another being a serial communication endpoint for programming the keymap of the controller.
I use my own VID / PID, so if the brook adapter does detection based on that I wouldnāt be in any list you have
The actual PS3 doesnāt have any issues with this, but I could see how a converter would.
Iāll have some time to mess around with it tomorrow, and Iāll start removing features until I figure out whatās causing the incompatibility. If any of what Iām doing stands out as a clear problem, or if you have a list of the requirements that the brook adapter needs to be compatible, it would be great to know. If not, Iām sure Iāll figure it out eventually!
Hi,
I have a Atrox-Xboxone stick, in order to made it work on my PC I installed custom drivers (from major nelson) and then re-wired two buttons. But I still have only 6 buttons working due to driver limitations.
I was thinking about use one of these super converters in order to convert my stick into a PS4 one (the pink or lime I guess)
Tried to update the firmware on my 360->PS4 converter, going to version V16_20160408 worked fine, but getting errors trying to go to V20_201607, I have the logs if they help, the error codes have always been associated with WriteB Failure(s). Same issue for installing both regular and TE firmware in 2 different USB ports (there was no issue regarding USB port in the older FW revision). Somebody told me this place is pretty active and that Iād get a pretty good chance of getting a response if I swung by here.
Its a new converter, I did these updates out of the box so I actually donāt know for sure whether it worked before. I thought the compatability controller option had to do with the timeout thing, thats what the instructions made it sound like
Donāt I need the updated firmware (2016_07) to deal with the 8 minute timeout issue?
I had tried other USB ports already. I just tried it without the compatability option checked and it worked, so I guess if that also gets rid of the 8min timeout then Iām ok.
