Lol the title is pure win. I can’t wait to start using Nemesis too.
Good stuff, who do you plan on putting him on a team with?
I don’t know, its still a little to early to tell but it would be something like Chris/Nemesis/Doom. How about you?
I think he will get blown up pretty badly. He is as tall as Sentinel and has no flight.
Correction TALLER than Sentinel
He doesn’t need flight because the size of his j.H is a disjointed ridiculous hitbox, you can’t see that shit happening seriously Nemesis can hit you from quite a distance and can combo off of it pretty easily as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TE98OgbN2co&feature=channel_video_title 1:22
That is not to say overheads are gonna hit him allot but it’s something he’s just gonna have to get over assists are your friends.
Strider/G.Rider/Nemesis
Looks like we’re all gonna have to start learning how to actually block once we get our hands on Nemesis.
nice owa. ok, i’m back on the nemesis train. i saw what i needed to see, and he won’t suck outright. still big, but you can certainly make him work. strokes chin
and i still support my theory that you can mash wall destroyer for hyper armor until further notice/testing.
When you think about it, he’s practically a slimmer Juggernaut.
and people definitely found ways to make him work in every game he’s in. : P
Except undead, with tentacles a rocket launcher and does not say a word besides STARS.
Perhaps i’ve gone too far…
I meant in terms of playstyle/moveset. : P
I don’t see how he could be any better than Sentinel, frankly. Less mobility, bigger, less projectiles, doesn’t seem to have as good air attacks, doesn’t look like he’ll have a great assist to justify him being anchor, et cetera.
He seems like he may do more damage, and he has those command grabs, but neither of those are really relevant if you get rushed down all day or kept on the other side of the screen and you can’t fly over to them.
Then stop comparing him to Sentinel and compare him to Ryu?
Problem solved.
Yeah. He just seems to have all Sentinel’s problems and only a few of his strengths.
Less mobility: His wave dash isn’t as good as Sentinel’s but it’s still decent
Bigger: Which also means he has more range on his attacks
Less Projectiles: Granted the only one he has does more damage and knocks down but it will whiff on most of the cast it’s a weakness yes.
Not as good air attacks: j.H, j.S j.3H j.6H all have amazing range and damage espicially his j.H
He’s not really a Sentinel he’s kind of a mix of a hulk with longer range and faster normals (besides that s.H of course). Like Robbie said he LOOKS sluggish on video but on actual gameplay he feels very solid it’s deceptive really out of the big high damage characters (Haggar, Sentinel, Thor and Hulk) I actually think he’s the fastest. Most of his normals have great range and blockstun and he can complete a full magic series.
All slow characters usually get rushed down or zoned unless you have lots of armor like Sentinel and using Super jump to get across the screen from one side to the other get across just because he does not have flight mode does not mean he will be trapped in a corner. To me flight mode just to move was sometimes a disadvantage, could be easily punished by a full screen super like Maximum Wesker or Okami Shuffle. The command grabs are perfect for resets and have good range. Not to mention he has the longest ranged grab hyper, able to OTG at full screen distance, and dat Hyper armor super. Nemesis isn’t perfect he’s got flaws but he’s very capable.
Point of the matter he fits in the same class as Sentinel of big slow strong guys but he doesn’t really play like Sentinel. I liked what Robbie said he’s more of a Dormmamu in speed and normals but with much greater damage. He’s a very capable character, yes he could use some assist help
Played him a bit at NYCC. The speed, range, and priority of his standing medium, aka the Test Big Boot, is amazing. This coupled with an assist is going to be great pressure.
I really like nemesis
Greatest thing said in this thread thus far.
he also has several strengths that Sentinel doesn’t, such as being more grab and unblockable oriented. You should probably compare him to other grapplers like Haggar since that’s who he seems to resemble more in terms of playstyle.
I think Nemesis is less of grappler than Haggar but can get in easier. Haggar I think is built around grapples (and dat Lariat) whilst Nemesis has good unblockable cmd grabs that are tools, not necessarily the core of his playstyle.
I just hope Nemmy and Iron Fist turn out to be better then originally thought
