Did anyone notice that his rockets do hella chip? I’m thinking lockdown assist + rocket chip = gdlk.

They do crazy damage in general so I wouldn’t be surprised, apparently during the stream something I missed Doom missiles + Nemesis was really crazy.

I don’t think lockdown assist + rockets is a good idea, considering you’ll have to be jumping to even hit most people with rockets, and by the time cold star ends, you probably want to be up close so you can try to get a command grab reset.
The way I figure it is he can do some stuff like taskmaster style, outzone some chars and make them come to you so you can start your offense using armored moves/command grabs. He has potential to chip really good, and he’s got some good zoning tools like tentacles and rockets, and his jump C. Notice how his rockets all shoot at a distance. Far range he has rockets, midrange he has tentacles, and close range he has amored attack and specials, good normals and command grabs. The only thing I’m worried about is if his normals and stuff will be too slow.
It really makes him more versatile as opposed to a melee only character who has to get in to do damage. He also has the option to use a rocket instead of just going in. It makes him less predictable I guess. They’ll be like he’s coming in I’m going to counter his attempt to get in rocket. Or I’ll just block his rocket or pressure command grab.
Ironic that he CAN sorta zone but is bad matchup against other zoners,
That’s already how it is for some zoners though. xD
Hearing of the NYCC UMVC3 Tourny brings me to the question, to use Nemesis or not to use Nemesis in the tourny? I’m probably not going to win, expecting some top players to take the lead but hey it could give me a chance to showcase him I guess. Which would mean a Wesker/Dormmamu/Nemesis team.
Depending on what day the tourney is, you’d probalby have enough time to stand in line for at least a FEW games to go test it out.
Tournies on 2pm saturday and on sunday (Though i’m probably not going sunday). However the UMVC3 Panel itself starts at 2:45 meaning the tournament won’t last that long. I hope the booth to play will be open for the majority of the con even before the tourny and panel so I can get what I need to do done.
Since NYCC is probably gonna have the final build of the game, or something close to it you might as well play Nemesis and list any notable changes. He’s bound to have changed from build to build.
I say run nemesis as anchor with two characters you know you’re good at. Use his RL slam or haymaker assist as you would use Haggar lariat and see how it works out for you. DHC him in now and again with Wall Destroyer whenever you feel your super is going to be punished (Spencer is using bionic Arm on your beam, for example.)
For some reason I keep imagining G.Rider wheelie into Wall Destroyer is the perfect DHC but I digress I was putting him in the anchor spot anyways. Not that he’s a bad character out of assist though. Going for the Clothesline (IMO a haymaker like you said) assist see how well I can combo off it or if it’s good at just getting someone annoying off of me, hopefully they all have armor.
personally, I’d choose RL slam. It might not have a large hitbox like clothesline, but it leaves Nemesis less vulnerable and doesn’t have a chance of messing up your combos with the following rocket shot. I guess it kind of depends if your point character uses a wallbounce or a ground bounce in their B&B. For example, if I were playing Wesker on point I’d go with RL slam. That way I could extend his B&B since Wesker’s combos utilise a wallbounce but not a ground bounce.
RL slam being armored also allows Wesker to try to go for some command grab tricks in the corner. Calling Nemesis just before attempting a command grab will either let you get the command grab off before RL slam hits, and if you miss, you’re covered by the assist since it has armor. Also, if you time it right RL slam will probably stop a chicken blocking opponent from jumping too high, bringing them back down to the ground for Wesker to try another command grab or a mixup.
Is RL slam assist an overhead?
Has anybody came up with a ridiculous nickname for Nemesis yet?
i.e. Big Poppa Pump
No ridiculous one like Derperine or such but a bunch of nicknames yes
Giant Zombie, Colgate Fresh (Look at dem teeth), and according to The Hulk UGLY MAN
I don’t think there will be as many top players as you think. Most of them are probably going to be at Season’s Beatings.
Colgate works as well as every other whitening tooth paste.
I’M IN THERE
So it is decided, Colgate Fresh shall be Nemesis, lol.
Oral B and Crest are also welcomed alternatives I suppose. : P
The white nurse outfit is the cleanest of them all.
I want to see what Yipes calls him. Or, rather, how close to “Colgate Fresh” it will be.
